I am trying to locate documentation or a howto regarding text entry in text areas within xoops. I am trying to enter text with symbols (code snippets) and these symbols (such as "<") are getting interperted or something like that becuase my text doesn't show up often times after one of these "special" characters. I have been looking around for a howto on this, but have not found any guidance.

my guess is that you need to deactivate options like "enable html" or "enable XOOPS code"

could you post what module you are using?

Change the value in the database table for that field to "TEXT" with phpMyAdmin.
