Yep, same here.
Tried editing the exisiting XOOPS feed (to a different url: am trying to get the www.overland-underwater.com feed) and although the name changed it still returns XOOPS news.

Is there another rss module that we can use?

Hi,

thanks for the input. Will try AMS. Actually: I have tried it, but I run into a new problem. I have uploaded the module but it doesn't show in my admin section. I have checked the folder structure etc. and that seems ok.

I seem to have the same problem with themes. I upload the relevant folders, but I can't select them. Does anyone know where I could possibly find the cause of this?

The only thing I can think of is that I haven't uploaded XOOPS into my root, but into a subdomain-folder. But before I do a complete reinstall: if that was the problem the entire package shouldn't work, should it? Anyway: all hints and solutions are appreciated!

can't select uploaded themes under preferences

Hi,

I have uploaded a few themes, but I can't select them in my admin page. I have read a lot about problems regarding themes, but non of that seems to apply to my situation. All information says that after unzipping a theme and uploading the relevant folder into my themes folder online, you should be able to select it in the preferences.
Well, not for me! Basically I followed the steps inhttps://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=366
(are steps 13-17 missing there?)

I have tried the following:
- updating system module
- emptying cache
But still the dropdown menu only displays the 3 standard themes.

I have checked the folder structure on the server and nothing seems wrong there.

The option to update the theme section is on 'yes' as well.
Does anyone have an idea on where to look next?

Thanks,

xoopa

ps Something seems to go wrong when I want to change one of the existing themes as well (change the logo on top), so maybe my problem is more generic than just the themes, although all modules seem to work just fine.

Hi, My log will have postings in both Dutch and English (using the news module). I was hoping to be able to simply create a topic 'English' and manage my user groups so that when international friends visit (to whom I will assign a special group) they will only see the posts in english and not the dutch ones as well.
All users have to log in to see the News section.

So far I have only found the option to show News or not, but not to show a certain topic (or subtopic) or not. I am guessing that that should be possible. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!
