Can't see blocks in 'Block Administration' page

I installed the sample_module and it worked ok. I made some adjustments, and now I can't see any blocks in the 'Block Administration' page. I don't get any errors either.

The thing that realy gets me is that I restored a working backup and it's the same thing. What is going on here?

I know enough about MySQL to look around the database and alter data, is there something in there I need to change?

How do you learn how to make a module?

Hi all. I'm new to php, but I have a website plugin that works by it's self and I'd like to learn how to make it a XOOPS module.

I have no clue where to start. I've read the wiki and looked over the API, but they realy don't explain anything.

I figured I'd start out small, so I'm trying to make a module that just prints 'Hello' to the screen, so I've taken the 'Sections' module because it's the smallest module I could find and changed the info to fit my needs. I then placed it in the 'modules' folder, and now none of the modules that are not installed will show up. So now I have a list of the installed modules, but nothing below that.

Is there any docs out there that I haven't found, and what am I doing wrong? Where do I go from here? I have no problem showing what I have so far, so if someone can take the time to help out, please ask for whatever info you need.

Thanks

OK, I figured it out. I was using the [url][/url] tags with 'auto format' mode.

I changed that to normal 'a href' tags in 'html' mode and it's fine.

I guess there's some code the the url tag that tells the browser to open the link in a new window.

Ok, this is what I'm doing. I'm trying to make a product catalog. First I make page for each product with 'Tiny Content' and make them 'not visable'. I then make a custom block with links to the product pages. But when I click on the links in the custom block it opens up another page.

When I use the 'Tiny Content' block and not my custom block the pages open in the same page.

So I bet your asking yourself, "why not just use the 'Tiny Content' block then"? I have 2 categories for my products, so I'd like to use 2 blocks, 1 for each catagory, and 'Tiny Content' is only one block.

I'd like the links to open in the same page, but there is no option for that.

So is there a way to:

1: open the links in the same window
or
2: have more than 1 'Tiny Content' block

Hi folks,

I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I erased my live website from my server. To make a long story short, my site is 2.5gigs because we have alot of media for members. I thought I was getting rid of a backup and emptied the recycle bin. My database is fine though.

I was wondering, how I can restore my site to as close to the original as I can, using the existing database? Is there some code I can alter?

I'd also like to just be able to plug the modules back in so they read the existing data in the database. I've read up alittle on making modules, and I remember there being some code that would create the databases. Would I be able to just comment that out for the install then uncomment it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I recommend using the 'Articles module for Xoops2 v0.18'. XOOPS has 'v0.17' in the 'Module Repository' under the catagory 'Content Management'.

This is the link to the newest version:http://support.sirium.net/modules/mydownloads/

Check this out:

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=28577&forum=15&post_id=124679#forumpost124679

Remember to read the hack info. This hack is insecure, so if security is a concern, you might want either use the last suggestion or just wait to see if XOOPS includes that feature in a future release.
