Thanks for the help. I actually had changed mainfile.php, but couldn't overwrite it. So actually, technically, I HADN'T changed the file. Anyways, that's all it was. Thanks a lot.

Hello,

I had a domain name expire and I registered a new name, but I can't figure out where to change the URL in the database. The site shows up now, but it's still looking for the stylesheets at the old web address. I'm looking through the database right now and don't see it anywhere.

Northern: I have read through all of the posts in this thread, all 8 pages of them. In fact, I have read through twice.

And yes, the solution from Stelian does only change the word "module" to "md"

Re: Rewrite URLs

I actually have read through all eight pages of that post; that was what inspired me to try what I did. I even posted at the end for help but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for trying though.

I'm trying to make some user-friendly URLs (not necessarily SE friendly, just human friendly).

Here is what I have in my .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase
/
ReWriteRule ^contact/$ /modules/liaise [L]

Now when I go to mysite.com/contact/ it takes me to the correct page, except that the URL in my browser address bar still shows mysite.com/modules/liaise, and the link in the menu still also shows mysite.com/modules/liaise

Thanks for any help with this.

OK, this isn't totally working for me so far.

Thanks for the replies, but I still have a few questions.

1. Where can I find out more info about 2.2.3 to see if I need those "advanced features", or at least to see what it is about.

2. I've never updated a site before. Can I go straight from 2.0.7 --> 2.0.13.2, or do I have to go through a series of intermediate steps for each upgrade? Or would it even be easier to do a fresh install of 2.0.13.2?

Thanks.

Is this a bad place to post this? Lots of people are looking but nobody is answering.

upgrade to 2.0.13.2 or 2.2.3???

Hello,

I have 3 sites running now that I have never upgraded (2.0.7, 2.0.7.3, and 2.0.9). What I can't figure out is if I am supposed to upgrade to 2.0.13.2 or 2.2.3. I read somewhere that people that upgrading should stick with the lower one unless they need some modules or something in the higher version, but I can't find ANYWHERE the differences between the two. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places. If anyone can offer me some advice I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks,

Chris
