It is a Godaddy hosted site and I am stuck with their version of PHP.

I've had a couple other Xoops sites on this server before but that was back at Xoops 1.7 and prior.

I've been trying to troubleshoot it, I have set the site up to the instructions - best I can tell. I have adjusted all the CHMods I can find instructions to modify but I don't even get the install wizard. I only get a FATAL ERROR when I attempt to initiate the install wizard:

Fatal error: Class 'XoopsPreload' not found in /home/content/92/13963592/html/_SiteFolder_/index.php on line 32

I have been unsuccessful installing XOOPS 2.5.10 on one of my Godaddy sites. I suspect it is because of the PHP version.

Godaddy
PHP Version: 5
MySQL Version: 5.5.51-38.1-log
Operating System: LINUX

What version of XOOPS would be most compatible with my Godaddy setup?

MyAlbum installed from PersonalPack_1.0

I didn't see where anyone else had issues installing MyAlbum in 2.5.0 but here are my results:

Unable to install myalbum. Error(s):
Installing MyAlbum

Invalid default value for 'res_x'

Any suggestions?

The 2.5 Release Notes state:

Installing XOOPS
-----------------------------------

1. Copy the content of the htdocs/ folder where it can be accessed by your server
2. Ensure mainfile.php and uploads/ are writable by the web server
3. For security considerations, you are encouraged to move directories "/xoops_lib" (for XOOPS libraries) and "/xoops_data" (for XOOPS data) out of Document Root, and change the folder names.
4. Make the directory xoops_data/ writable; Create (if not already present) and make the directories xoops_data/caches/, xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache/, xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache/ and xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile/ writable.
5. Access the folder where you installed the htdocs/ files using your web browser to launch the installation wizard

I am setting up a test site to run 2.5 in prior to going live with it. I'm confused about when I perform step 3 above. Should I move and rename /xoops_lib and /xoops_data prior to proceeding with step 4 then recreate fresh directories in step 4? Or should step 3 be a follow-up procedure I perform after the installation is complete?

Sorry to bother you with what should probably be obvious - don't understand why this decision is not evident to me.

I placed the following information into the area that says "Enter IP addresses that should be banned from the site":

.ru$|.cn$|.in$|mailinator.com$|

but it has had no effect on blocking .ru email addresses from signing up for accounts. Is there something else I have to enable or maybe my syntax needs modified to make this work?

I'm not sure how to alter the settings of my Captcha. Are there instructions for doing this someplace that I could be pointed to?

Not sure why I wasn't notified of your reply since I had the "Notify me of new posts in the current thread." option checked.

I added .ru$| to my blocked domains and hope this stops the registration attempts.

Russian (.ru) users signing up

Hello,

One of my sites is a support site for our local Boy Scouts troop located in the central US area. Recently I have been getting users signing up with email addresses ending in .ru, sometimes several a day.

I initially had the site setup as user activated memberships but when I audited my memberships and noticed the .ru email addresses I deleted the .ru users and changed it to moderator activated. Since then I get registration notices of users with .ru email address frequently. I don't approve their membership but that hasn't seemed to detour them. I'm just curious if there is something I should be watching for or if anyone else has experienced this.

I hadn't looked that close at editing the templates but that sounds logical enough. I'm not finding a template in the xcgallery templates that appear to address displaying the user though - any help here?

XCGallery Hack To Hide User

I run a XOOPS Photoshop Contest site using XCGallery 1.1 for the contests. I would like to hide the Submitted By information untill the contest is over but only for the current contest album if possible. Is anyone familiar enough with XCGallery 1.1 code to point me in the right direction?
