Catz,

Thanks for the info on include() and include_once(). I've used include() to include php files in other php files before.

What we are trying to do here is include XOOPS php files in html files. We've included non-xoops php files in html files on our site but when we try to include XOOPS php files it does not work.

If anyone has a working example of an html page that includes a XOOPS php page it would be very helpful.

Thanks Again. --Eric

We use server side includes for many of the html files in our root directory. For example, we inlcude the top nav on all pages as follows:
<!--#include file="top-header.html" -->

We've been trying to include some XOOPS pages but it does not work. For example, the include below does not pull anything in:
<!--#include virtual="xoops/html/modules/news/index.php" -->

Does anyone have experience using includes to bring XOOPS content into plain html pages?

I'm also looking at the mod rewrite hack but I want to know our options with includes too.

Thanks.

Thanks for the tips, I've hidden the blocks on the left side.

There was still empty space on the left so I also modified the themes/default/theme.html file by remarking out the left <td>.

News module content not displayed for users

I've installed the FAQ module and it works great.

The News module was installed yesterday. An article was created but I can't get the users to see it.

When a user goes to ../xoops/html/index.php he or she is redirected to ../xoops/html/modules/xoopsfaq/ where the faq section is visible but not the news module.

How do we set things up so that users can see the news module?

Thanks.

How did you hide the user login block for users? We want to do the same thing here. In other words, we don't want the users to see the login section on the home page(it will confuse them).

When we need to login we'll just go to thehttp://www.yoursite.com/user.php page.

Specifically I want to replace the /html/banners.php?op=click&bid=3 banner on the top of the page near the center.

Also, I want to remove the Login and Main Menu sections on the left nav of the home page. In other words I want the home page to be limited to an FAQ section for the public. I want the login to be handled elsewhere and there is no need for a Main Menu right now as it just has Home and FAQ links under it which are the same thing right now.

Thanks Again, this software seems really flexible so far.

I activated the FAQ module and put a test question and answer in place. Now I want the FAQ section to appear on the home page so that everyone can see it without having to log in.(Never mind, I see that it is System Admin->Preferences--> General Settings -->Module for your start page).

Now I need to change the left nav and the top banner on the home page.
