I have been trying to work out which version is best 2.0.x OR 2.2.x and I cant find any comparisons between them.

Can anyone help here??

I'm looking to build an online community for gamers and ideally I would like to use the Team module and import data from my current PHPBB forum to the XOOPS forum. Also I am looking to make it a multi-site with one database and unique themes, is this possible with Xoops?

I'm currently looking for a CMS software to power a gaming site. I have looked at various ones including PHP-Nuke & Joomla both of which have some great features but the Cons outweigh the Pros.

So I am hoping someone will give me some good news by telling it is possible to use PHPBB with XOOPS or even import / convert PHPBB data to the XOOPS forum.

Are either of these possible?

Also how easy / difficult would it be to built my own theme / template?? Is there any dreamweaver add-ons like there is for Joomla?

This is the simple fix for the firefox displaying transparent flash.

When you publish the flash as transparent you get this:

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,2,0" width="776" height="260">
        <
param name=movie value="published.swf">
       <
param name=wmode value=transparent>
      <
param name=quality value=high>
        <
param name="BGCOLOR" value="#CC6600">
        <
param name="SCALE" value="noborder">
<
embed src="published.swf" quality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="776" height="260" scale="noborder" bgcolor="#CC6600">
</
embed
</
object>

I discovered that firefox requires 'wmode="transparent"' in the embed section of the code, like so:

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,2,0" width="776" height="260">
        <
param name=movie value="published.swf">
       <
param name=wmode value=transparent>
      <
param name=quality value=high>
        <
param name="BGCOLOR" value="#CC6600">
        <
param name="SCALE" value="noborder">
<
embed src="published.swf" [b]wmode="transparent"[/bquality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="776" height="260" scale="noborder" bgcolor="#CC6600">
</
embed
</
object>

Its as simple as that!!

I have just resolved the issue with firefox not displaying the transparent flash header.

My site looks good in firefox too now!!

Also does anyone know of anyway to combine the XOOPS and oscommerce login?

It would appear the firefox is actually a browser issue rather than a site issue.

The header is simply made up of a background image with a transparent flash overlay.

It seems firefox won't display transparent flash.....

I'll stick to IE

thanks alot i'll look into it.

Its a custom theme based on another, can't remember which.
People seem to like the site and we get alot of hits.

Thanks again for the comments.

Thanks for the kind words folks......

The oscommerce module was from www.myxoopsshop.org if i recall correctly, but had to be tweaked to get it to work properly.

Pocket Bike Racing UK is an XOOPS based site with an OSCommerce shop intergrated into it. The 2 work so well together, although it did take many weeks to get it to work properly.

Let me know what you think.....
