Hiya,
I'm trying to send notifications as part of a GET request.
Notifications by email are working, but notifications by PM result in "Database update not allowed during processing of a GET request" in MySQL debug (Xoops 2.0.13.2)
Is there anything I can do to work round this without switching to a POST request? (which I don't think is feasable in this case)

I converted a phpnuke site to xoops.
I managed to take across my forum, news (but not comments) and users amongst others stuff.
There was a lot of time spend with phpmyadmin dumping stuff into excel and creating scripts that would change the phpnuke tables into the equivalent XOOPS table structures - LOTS of alter table statements.
It took time to work it all out, but it was definitely worth it.

You couldn't do that from within a chess page unless you were to use some sort of activex control or java applet with appropriate security permissions.
And then people could get round it my not allowing it to run.

I've got a couple of modules on my site that I'd like to run purely over https, but run the rest of the site over regular http...
Any ideas how I'd go about his? What files to hack, etc?

I did find code to sync all the users - but:
1) there is no place to call it from
and 2) when I worked out a GET url to call the code snippet it didn't work - just syncing uid 1.
I spent some time hacking it about, got it working and then put the old version back. Can't remember what I did. Sorry!

I've recently migrated my site from PHPNuke to XOOPS and spent some time writing hideous sql to migrate our forum across (ok, its not perfect, but it keeps all the history etc.)
Now I'd like to sync up the post counts for all the users. I'm aware of the Sync button in Edit User, but I don't really relish the idea of doing this for >300 users.
Any way I can automate this or is there some sort of sync-all that I've missed?
