Probably asked million times, but didn't find ansvers ...yet

Is there tools or documentation how-to change to XOOPS from nuke+phpbb without losing forum posts and members?

xoops seems somehow nicer to manage and themes might be littlebit easier to make look like "my own portal". Is XOOPS more powerful than nuke (faster or size of portal..etc)?

Any hints welcome or just to forget idea and keep using phpnuke..

(What inside site now: news, "manuals", "reviews", forum with >2000 messages, >300 members, photoalbum - what missing at the moment useability, "my own look and feel", possibility to add attachments to forum..)

I believe bd_cmsc created a phpnuke to XOOPS script to convert his site some time back. You could try contacting him for some tips.

i believe the newbb (xoops forum/bulletin board module) team will release the phpbb conversion script shortly. so you will be able to convert your phpbb to XOOPS newbb.

[ XOOPS if of course more powerful that phpnuke ]

there is also a phpbb port module for XOOPS written by koudanshi (please see the XOOPS faq), however i suggest you to wait and use newbb instead (as the phpbb port do a core hack).

Any new news..?

really want to change to XOOPS with newbb, but there is lot of data (at least all user data and links would be nice - the old forums migh be left as "history part of the site" if moving is too hard... but then I need to remove nuke and add only old phpbb as passive source of info..)

I converted a phpnuke site to xoops.

I managed to take across my forum, news (but not comments) and users amongst others stuff.

There was a lot of time spend with phpmyadmin dumping stuff into excel and creating scripts that would change the phpnuke tables into the equivalent XOOPS table structures - LOTS of alter table statements.

It took time to work it all out, but it was definitely worth it.
