I was wondering if you can make two sets of forums. Like Board One for game discussion and Board Two for another subject.

ok, thanks a million. I will try it and preak and tone this and that until I figure it completely out. Wonderful little thing is this xoops. Kind of like a website in a can, just add water and simmer for 15 minutes.

I think I understand now. You have to go to the modules and create the folder for the new module first. Then you go to that folder and upload the zip and then extract it there. I was under the belief that it created the subdirectory for you like it does when you upload a new theme.

For example if I wanted to upload the Frozen Bubble mod, I would go to the modules directory and manually create a Frozen Bubble folder or subdirectory and then upload and unpack the zip there?

How do you upload modules that you download? In what directory do they go? When I uploaded using the file manager the homeworlds zip and extracted it and then went to the admin menu it said it could not find some of the module files.

I have looked all over and I cannot find how to do this. Please direct me to how this is done or just tell me how here in this thread. Thanks.

I tried the hack by jac (I believe I got his name right) and the ip image does not show. Does anyone know of a hack for the newest version of the forums. I believe that is what I got. I just installed it yesterday.

oh, where would you place the stat counter? What file would need to be edited? Do I do this from the file manager or from the XOOPS admin panel?

Thanks you all. I will look into all of this. An ip ban module is preferred because third party copanies go out of business sometimes and I would like to have a second option. I run a video gaming website and it picks up a lot of troublemakers.

Well, I noticed that when you reply to a news story it shows the ip address. However, it does not in the forums. This is a safety feature that should come standard with the forum. I am not too good with phpMyAdmin. oh well, thanks for your help. I really do appreciate it.
