Yes, we are aware of the module 'dms'.

If in fact anyone who has this module running and understands it, and would be willing to assist us (first in a sandbox site) that would be great.

Otherwise we are looking for a simple but robust document versioning module.

And again, yes we are aware of CVS, but the overhead and learning curve for the average document author and maintainer is just too high.

So what we need is a lot like DMS, but several of us have tried to install and configure it, and have not been successful.

I should know this, but could any of you tell me where I change the 'Click' URL of the site logo?

I doubt there is one yet. You could contact the author.

But unless you are in a hurry, you might want to wait for the next version. as I understand it's a complete rewrite and easier to use.

same here, astronomical.org first comes up, the the link tohttp://astronomical.org/portal/ goes to a blank page...

I'd start with looking at the index page in the portal folder that should be there? turn on the debug.

Okay new interesting, since I know xoops, I tried

http://astronomical.org/portal/admin.php and as I should have I got 'you don't have permission to access this page'

but then it redirected me to

http://www.astronomical.org/portal/modules/news/

and voila there is your site.

So Im thinking that your sub-domain 'portal' doens't have the correct info/page/index whatever it needs. Because XOOPS is stilling active as you can see from above.

I had a similiar problem. It was related to my local host not updated something or other, but finally it did.

I just tried your houseofstrauss.co.uk and found it
nice site by the way.

but I did notice that the address ishttp://66.194.238.158/~houseof/

Also read this, it confirms what I found to be true: and offers some hope: Another thread on hiding private forums

Remembering that will most likely hide forum module, not just the private forums.

After seeing your question, I could find no easy way to hide private forums in the main forum page, which seems to be an obvious thing to do, after they are private.

I will look into it further, since I need that also.
