My account avatar isnt working too.
Tried both upload one in correct dimensions (112 x 112) and size, but no avail.

Tried using one of the system's own choice of avatars - no result.

Just to let you know.

Regards

Sorry to keep asking, Mamba,

I got it that I have to Upgrade from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package), but for which VERSION?

Shall i download 2.5.0 and follow the instructions that says, 'Upgrading from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package)'?

Or should I first upgrade to 2.4.4 and then to 2.5.0?

I know I am taxing your patience, but I just want to be sure.

Thank you!

Let me get this straight.
A lot of confusion

1. I am on 2.3.3 currently.
What should be my next step?

I was earlier on 2.3.2b which I upgraded to 2.3.3

The next version I see is 2.3.3b for which there is NO UPGRADE from 2.3.3.

How to I proceed?

Should I just overwrite my 2.3.3 wth 2.3.3b?

2.5.0 is here and I am stuck on 2.3.3

Absolutely stupefying, I am in knots.

Please clarify and Thank you Mambo,

I am on 2.3.3, want to upgrade.

Should I first upgrade to 2.3.3b?

I searched all over the xoops site, but i cannot locate how I can upgrade from 2.3.3. to 2.3.3b

The 2.3.3b package also does not have any instructions.

This is horrible.

Please help!

Please help me out!

I upgraded an old 2.2.x XOOPS site to 2.3.1.
The upgrade scipt was fantastic, it went very well, although I was very sceptic.

The only problem I face now is that I don't have any BLocks at all!!

In the blocks administration, I got all the pull down menus (Blocks generated by , Blocks visible in Groups access Visible
Title Block Description Module Side
Left-Center-Right Visible in Cache lifetime Visible Weight Action), but the table lists out no systemic blocks nor module blocks.

I am able to add custom blocks with my own HTML, but what is totally missing is the system blocks without which i cannot display log in box, or topics.

No page has system blocks on it.

It looks as if the whole blocks system is missing my site.

Please check it out athttp://jagan.biz

Can anyone point me to what I can do next to get my blocks back?

Also, in my administration of modules menu, I see that only the SYSTEM module shows 2009 date while all other modules show 2005. Is that normal?

Wordpress, drupal and mambo have captcha mechanisms to deal with spam.

Registering to post is soooo old now. Things should be easy.

Need to think out of the box.

Having an option won't hurt. It need not be turned on by default, only those who want it can activate it.

This will bring XOOPS into the Blogging community big way. And thats a whole lot of users!

Xoops should be versatile and not be tied down to building 'communities' since in the near future, Blogging will morph into communities, interest groups and foci.

Can't we also get a straight forward UPGRADE script for 2.2.x to 2.0.15 please?

I am stuck with 2.2.x on my site and desperately want to break through to the current version.

Like myself there are plenty of sites and webmasters.

Providing fixes is not a great measure, however One step jump to 2.0.15 would be most appreciated!

And, yes, i tried the older earlier 'downgrade' script and it plain just didn't work out, had a lot of bugs and if not for my backups, it would have rendered my whole site lifeless.

We need a better and right working script please!!

The non-consideration of this feature is preventing XOOPS from being used as a serious blogging tool instead of just a community builder.

As the web 2.0 moves away from monolithic community sites to multiple personal blogs with interactivity like backtracks and so on, XOOPS stands to loose.

Meanwhile, Drupal, Mambo and other cutting edge CMS have take a clue from wordpress and have implemented much of the mainstream blogging tools (like livejournal, etc) into their own functionality.

Admins may kindly review this feature please!

Jagan.
