Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to upgrade my website from Xoops 2.3.3 to Xoops 2.4.4-or lead me to an ungrade package I can run and get the job done?

Just follow the detailed instructions in Release notes.

In the Release notes there is also a link to a detailed Installation Guide.

I maybe a dummy here-but I'm going to ask anyway:

I'm trying to upgrade as you no doubt understand, but I'm not seeing anything but "install instructions"-SO: Is the process of upgrading from 2.3.3 to 2.4.4 a matter of just "installing 2.4.4?

I.E., there doesn't seem to be an "upgrade" package that would be "different" from the full "install" package. Is that correct?

This...

Upgrading from a previous version
-----------------------------------

Upgrading from XOOPS 2.3.3b and 2.4.x (easy way)

1. Get the right update package from the sourceforge file repository
2. Overwrite files in XOOPS directory on your server with the content of /htdocs
* make sure that you copy the content of /xoops_lib to whatever directory you keep it on the server now (it should be your current XOOPS_TRUST_PATH directory), then delete the /xoops_lib directory. There can NOT be two directories with the content of /xoops_lib
3. If you have Protector previously installed, open the "mainfile.php" file , and remove the Pre-check and Post-check lines (if they exist):

include XOOPS_TRUST_PATH.'/modules/protector/include/precheck.inc.php' ;
include XOOPS_TRUST_PATH.'/modules/protector/include/postcheck.inc.php' ;

4. If you're upgrading from XOOPS 2.4.x, make the file /include/license.php writeable (permission 0777 on Linux)
5. Access /upgrade/ with a browser, and follow the instructions
6. Follow the instructions to update your database
7. Delete the "upgrade" folder from your server
8. Update the "system" module from the modules administration interface. Other modules, especially "Profile" and "Protector" are recommended to update as well

...is from here, and the upgrade package is here.

im using 2.3.3 right now, and would like to upgrade to version 2.4.4 because some new modules only works on 2.4.4.

I've already done major coding changes on some xoops files/modules templates/language files/etc...

if i do the upgrading, would all my changes will be overwrite to the default 2.4.4 templates?

I am on 2.3.3, want to upgrade.

Should I first upgrade to 2.3.3b?

I searched all over the xoops site, but i cannot locate how I can upgrade from 2.3.3. to 2.3.3b

The 2.3.3b package also does not have any instructions.

This is horrible.

Please help!

The easiest way for you is to do the full upgrade. Just follow the instructions for a full upgrade:

"Upgrading from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package) "

Let me get this straight.
A lot of confusion

1. I am on 2.3.3 currently.
What should be my next step?

I was earlier on 2.3.2b which I upgraded to 2.3.3

The next version I see is 2.3.3b for which there is NO UPGRADE from 2.3.3.

How to I proceed?

Should I just overwrite my 2.3.3 wth 2.3.3b?

2.5.0 is here and I am stuck on 2.3.3

Absolutely stupefying, I am in knots.

Please clarify and Thank you Mambo,

The answer is still the same for 2.5.0: follow the instructions as listed here:

"Upgrading from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package) "

Sorry to keep asking, Mamba,

I got it that I have to Upgrade from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package), but for which VERSION?

Shall i download 2.5.0 and follow the instructions that says, 'Upgrading from XOOPS 2.0.* above 2.0.14 and 2.2.* (using the full package)'?

Or should I first upgrade to 2.4.4 and then to 2.5.0?

I know I am taxing your patience, but I just want to be sure.

Thank you!
