I've been using version 2.2 since the release.

But there a couple of annoying glitches with this version on my site.

especially with the userprofiles.
The administration of userprofile fields are'nt working,
the admin-area displays a blank screen.

And searching for members (/xoopsmembers) works partially,

So is it possible to downgrade? How and how do i do this?

Thnx in advance

Technically speaking, it is an upgrade, not a downgrade

Which release are you using? 2.2.3 or 2.2.4?

There is a new release planned shortly to fix outstanding bugs on 2.2.4 - although it will not add some of the new features from 2.0.15. This may deal with some of the problems you are having.

It's 2.2.4

I'm willing to wait for a new version in the 2.2.X branch.

My XOOPS was always upgraded perfectly since the site was founded in 2003 until 2.2.X came out.

I was hoping the ' upgrade' to 2.0.15 should get rid of this glitches i'm having. Becouse i think my site is 'damaged' somewhere/someplace and any future upgrades in 2.2.x won't fix there issues.

The next release (2.2.5? I think so) is more of a maintainance fix really... the next major release for 2.2.x users will be 2.4.

It's really personal choice if its better for you to move to 2.0.15, which will be able to be updated to 2.3.

(It is confusing - but the upgrade path is as follows...

2.0.x ----> 2.3.x -----> 2.4
2.2.x ------------------> 2.4

Due to code differences between 2.2 and 2.0 - 2.2 users need to wait a bit longer before updates are possible to 2.4)

But we will be providing maintainace release to 2.2 users if required.

2.0.15 it shall be.

What's the best way to accomplish this?

upload and overwrite all files? and update the system module?
But i bet there will be some Database differences.

AND, if i remember correctly an important difference between version 2.0.X and 2.2 is that 2.2 got it's userprofile and private messaging as a stand-alone module,
while version 2.0.X it's still an integraded (kernel?) component

Can't we also get a straight forward UPGRADE script for 2.2.x to 2.0.15 please?

I am stuck with 2.2.x on my site and desperately want to break through to the current version.

Like myself there are plenty of sites and webmasters.

Providing fixes is not a great measure, however One step jump to 2.0.15 would be most appreciated!

And, yes, i tried the older earlier 'downgrade' script and it plain just didn't work out, had a lot of bugs and if not for my backups, it would have rendered my whole site lifeless.

We need a better and right working script please!!

The only current method is found as above.

2.2.5 will be released shortly, and future updates will allow you to move towards 2.4.
