Hello- I am looking to convert a site from PostNuke to XOOPS 2 (I already have another XOOPS 2.0 site, and I love it... much simpler than PostNuke was).

I am not very techical. I noticed the following link:
https://xoops.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=13&lid=204
in both the downloads area as well as references to it in the forums... but it looked like the last post was back in early 2003. I am certain that there has been a lot of development since then on Xoops... just wondering... has anyone updated this script, or created a new, easy way to migrate?

The site is for a nonprofit that I volunteer for, for what it is worth.

Thanks,
Kevin

I have a few questions- there are some reasons that I would like to use XOOPS for a large business site (we are starting with no money, but highly expectant). I need certain capabilities that MovableType has, and others that XOOPS has. Specifically:

1. I would like to be able to easily host about 90 blogs out of one installation of Xoops, where all of the users have a singular login.

2. I want to be able to track each blog as well via RSS. (otherwise I would load it mulitple times... )

3. Anyone have experience with about 700 people pounding on a XOOPS installation?

Thanks. I hope to bring this project to the XOOPS community. Any thoughts or pointers appreciated.

Kevin

I see where I went wrong... funny... after posting, I figured out a different way to attack the problem.

My group permissions for anonymous would not allow this new block of html to be seen by the anonymous group. I get it, when I submit a new html block, i have to allocate permissions back in the group area for that to work.

Just takes time to figure this out.

thanks. sorry for the noise. hopefully this post will help some other newbie like me in the future.

Adding HTML Blog only shows for registered users

I am using version XOOPS 2.0.5.1, just dowloaded it a few hours ago.

I am having a problem with submitting a new html section at the top of the page (below the header) by adding in blocks this section.
I have been attempting to add this section for "anonymous users" so that it would show up on "all pages" including for anyone that comes by the site. Just like on my old PostNuke site, I wanted to add a small message that set a tone for the site.

For some reason, every time that I place this in the anon view, it gets moved over to the registered users view.

perhaps I am doing something wrong... this is my first time. but it is starting to look like a bug given that I hvae fought with it for such a while.

Thanks,
Kevin
