Hi,

I'm considering to start a new XOOPS-powred site to promote my online affiliate business. I was told that in order to be search engine friendly, it is vital to build a key word focused, high value content page.

But I have a question regarding how exactly major Search Engines work. Since our content (as well as key words, and other metab stuff) are mostly in database. If you just take a look at our index.php or index.html, there is not much stuff there.

Most sample pages that my upline leader send me are plain old html.

My question is, if I build the pages through XOOPS with exactly the same content as the html version, will the search Engine rank them the same or little diferently?

I guess the same question also apply to nuke, postnuke or any other CMS.

And I have a question regarding how exactly major Search Engines work.

Maybe it's silly question, but asking is better no knowing...

Thanks in advance.

Shide

I've posted the same question in Module forum, but I'd like to have a broader audiance. So here you and forgive me if it's not a proper board to post...

I wonder if anyone has developed a module which can send a online greeting card to one or more members, using exsting free online services, such as Yahoo!Greetings. Ideally, it can send greetings in batch to a group of users...

Xmas is coming fast, I really love to send a xmas to all our members, but I'm afraid I don't have enough time to write a module from scratch. If anyone has done something similar, even not quite finished, I'd love to take a look.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,

Have a questions about how the block titles are displayed in a mullti-language setting.

I recently installed Chinese language package and everything works fine except the block tiles are still in English (Main Menu, User Menu, etc).

I know I can change them to Chinese in Block Amdin page. But then I'll have problem when I switch back to English.

Although we've defined the block titles in XOOPS_VERSION.php and corresponding Language files. but XOOPS seems only display what's saved in the database (the same as on Block Admin page), and ignore the definition in XOOPS_VERSOIN.php.

I'm sure some of you guys have done some hack regarding this, and I wonder if you can give me some hint, so I don't have to spend time trying to re-invent the wheels?
