Hi DreamGear,
Can you provide your "empty module" for download?
I installed XOOPS and your module seems to be the way to add new pages in xoops. As far as I can tell, the only way to add some regular pages is to add "their equivalent module"... some add empty-module1 and empty-module2 to have to more pages you can use!!!
Is that it?

I really like XOOPS but I think that 1 page per module is extreemly stupid!! OR maybe I'm getting something wrong!!

Cheers

Hi All,
I just installed the Tinycontent module.
Well, if you click on Tiny content (within the main menu) it takes forever!!
Can't we just simply have the option to remove some links from within the main menu... or any menu for that matter?

I installed the Tiny Content module cause I have been told it was the only way to add some new pages (As far as I can tell, the only way to add a page is to add its "equivalent module"). Is there a better way... How could it be possible that we don't have a simple easy way to add new pages in XOOPS...???

Cheers

Thanks for your reply PureLuXus...
Does that mean that I need to add a new tinycontent module whenever I need to add a new page? Should I rename tinymodule (tinymodule1, tinymodule2, ...etc)??
What if I need to creat multiple new pages in a tree like structure. Example:

Menu:
Home->
NEWS->
...
Meet me-> CV->
hobbies-> Football->
Music->
Achievements->
Galery->

Is that possible? how? ... using tinycontent all the way?

Thank you very much in advance!

just one solution:
tinycontent
install the modul.. add your html cv
activate the block.. change the group rights that everyone can see the module and the block.[/quote]

Hi everyone,
I installed XOOPS but it seems to me that I cannot creat a new page! The only way to creat a new page is to have the equivalent MODULE?? that cannot be right!
I must have missed something somewhere....
Let's say I want to have my CV on my XOOPS-website. I can add a link to some menu (Exp using the i-Menu module) but how do I creat the CV page? I just want to write some text whithin a block or import an html file...
there must be a way to do it!

Thanks for your help.

Hello Xoopsers!
After few weeks investigations I decided that I should go for Xoops, I like it so much (the community and all) that I decided I might join the devlopement effort.

Could anyone direct me to some proper documentation? I tried the Wiki yesterday... hummm, not very informative! Actually today it doesn't even work (the link to wiki) see bellow:
*************
Query failed: delete from wakka_referrers where time < date_sub(now(), interval '1' day) (No Database Selected)
*************

By the way, I noticed that you are investigating a way to get XOOPS to be multilangual... well, I m new to XOOPS and php ... but... hummm, What do you think of this solution:

Declare a global variable $lang. and all the "key words" that are to be seen by the end user shouold be indexed by a global array that has $lang as an index.

Example:
If today we have the word english "news" or $news. We should rather use and array $news where:
$news[en]="news"; $news[fr]="nouvelles";
$news[dk]="nyheder"; ....etc

And in the code we use $news[$lang];

If the user sets $lang="en"; => English;
If the user sets $lang="fr"; => French;
If the user sets $lang="dk"; => Danish;

Ok, this implies some overhead and loss in efficiency But it is very clean and clear.

I hope you get the idea! (I'm new to php and XOOPS so it is ok if you all think it is STUPID .

Pleaseeeeeeeee, some real documentation.... So I can join in as soon as possible...

one more thing, has anyone started working on some e-learning module ??? maybe SCORM3 compliant
