Hey Guys
I just patched from 2.05 to 2.06 but after I copied everything to the directory my site returns a blank page, even if I try to go directly to admin.php. Any ideas?

Liaise Problem

Hey Guys,
Just downloaded the Liaise 1.2.1 and my server meets all the necessary requirements. The problem I'm having is that whenever I try to create a form, I get to the add/edit elements page it always tells me that "You have to create a Form First" even though I've repeatedly tried to create forms and when I hit save it gives the "Database Updated" message. Also, if I go to the Liase module page on my site, it will give me a listing of contact forms (including the ones that I've tried to create), but when I select one, it just pulls a blank page. I'm using XOOPS 2.0.5 and PHP 4.3.3. Has anyone run into this?
Thanks
Will

Nevermind, I posted too quickly. It was just a problem with my Apache configuration. Thanks again though!

Hey Guys,
Whenever I click on a link to a module from my home page, the browser displays the index of that module's directory. i.e. If I click on "Calendar" from the home page, the browser returns the Index of /modules/eCal, instead of the index.php for that module.
Sorry to keep bugging you all about trivial stuff.

Can't run scripts from public html dir

Hey guys, I may have to just find a new web host but I thought I'd run this by you and see if anyone has an idea.
Apparently, I can't dump the entire contents of the XOOPs \html to my public html folder. My host only allows scripts run from a \cgi dir. Here's an excerpt from their FAQ:

Q: Are my scripts required to reside in a special directory?
A: Your scripts must reside in the cgi directory of your
Web directory tree.

Q:What information do I need to execute a PHP script?
A:*We currently support version 3 and 4.2.3 of PHP.
*The VDE environment requires you to use the 'sh-bang' line at the top of your script:
-PHP v3 #!/usr/bin/php or #!/usr/local/bin/php
-PHP v4 #!/usr/bin/php4 or #!/usr/local/bin/php4
If you don't use the /php4 tag in the #! line for version 4, the extension must then be php4.

*Scripts must be run out of the /cgi directory
*You must have VDE/CGI turned on. You can do this by going to the XO™ Gateway, select Control Panel, then select Manage Hosting, then Account Settings, and then check the Yes block next to Allow CGI (VDE) Access under Feature Settings (I've done this.)
*The files must be named filename.php

Q:What is the absolute path to my root Web directory?
A:The only path you need is /web

Q:What is the absolute path for my cgis?
A:The absolute path ishttp://domain.ext/cgi/scriptname.ext

Q:Are there any limitations for files in the /cgi directory?
A:You should only store your cgi files in the /cgi directory. While standard HTML pages will work in the /cgi directory, it is better to keep all of your non-cgi files out of the /cgi directory. Images that are stored in other than the /web folder cannot be displayed on a web page.

As you can probably tell, I'm new to a lot of this and would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!

All that they told me is that I could put all files in my /web directory except for the actual php scripts which have to go in the /cgi directory. I've never run into anything like this before, and of course their support staff isn't allowed to provide "support of this nature"

Actually, the "Save or Open" problem was mine. it was a file association with IE on my local machine. now, when I call a .php file it displays the file source in the browser

I uploaded all of the files to my /web (Public html) directory. Anytime I tried to call a .php file, my machine asks me if I'd like to open it, or download it. If I click open, nothing happens.

Hey guys, I've installed XOOPS on my local Apache server to test, but now I'd like to install on my web host. I've discovered that my hosting company requires all PHP scripts to be in the /cgi directory. Can someone give me an overview of how the installation should be modified. I'm new to PHP and XOOPS and trying to learn as I go. Thanks for your time!
