Hi finally I have installed the 2.4.4 version on another folder / directory of my server so in fact I am having the old setup as a mirror still on the server.

Now my question I did already import the modules and also the modified template files of every module into the new version.

However there are a few problems or let me say issues surrounding

a) Xoops Configurations

b) Module Configurations

c) Block Configurations

d) Customized Blocks

e) system .html files like blocks with hacks on them.

f) Group permissions

g) Module Main Table ( Sequence and Activity )

h) Template files

Could you please tell me the easiest way how to import these settings into the new version without having to go through all modules and re-configure them to the 2.0.16 setup.

I found several similar tables on the database however I found also some tables which do not exist on the old 2.0.16 Xoops database.

I also did import my template set which seems to be fine.

But one of the obstacles to me are in particular these tables and if they can be just exchanged.

xoops_image xoops_imagebody
xoops_imagecategory
xoops_imgset
xoops_imgsetimg
xoops_imgset_tplset_link

xoops_newblocks

xoops_tplfile
xoops_tplsource
xoops_tplset

xoops_modules

xoops_config
xoops_configcategory
xoops_configoption

Thanks for your always appreciated input and despite my doubts in the beginning I am glad I am in the upgrade process since the new version is much easier to navigate on the administration side and also there are some newer modules which simply do not work on the old version.

PLUS THE VERY NICE INCLUSION OF PROTECTOR in the core version, however I do have some problems with restoring data via the backup module but I will get back to this later.

Would like to revert to this question

Ok, then please give me the download links and versions of following modules on xoops.org site which is using the current version 2.4.4 , correct

I would say it does not matter which site I am building or trying to improve but want just things which will work.

And the ones following are working and running on xoops.org
(P.S. some or them I do of course not need like the repository)

1) News
2) Wf channel
3) Forum I believe it should be newbb
4) smartfaq
5) extgallery
6) xoopspartners.

As you said with the rest I might need I will have to play with but first I want to make things sure.

I do not think this is so difficult to understand.

Once again I believe this is in the interest of all current xoops users, members an the future compatriots.

user.php, do not use login block.

currently it is only in FF, Google Chrome, but not in Opera and IE,

Don't worry in the moment I will clean the cache and then lets see, again.

But please kindly get back to the modules issue.

thanks.

I have installed the news module 1.56 on 2.0.16 now unfortunately I have the number "0" in the username field

anybody heard of such an instance or bug.

Did backup my database and uploaded the old data.

News are all fine but this 0 in the user field at the Login.

Very strange

http://infomoz.net/modules/wfdownloads/viewcat.php?cid=5

this is the correct link but you will be forwarded twice somewhere else but last not least there it is if someone wants to get it.

But I read some comments that this is out of the current line I believe some guy wishcraft commented on it, that this is going into the wrong direction

Anyway I prefer to get the running version on xoops.org

P..S. I would like to add that I have visited several sites setup with Xoops and at least 1 up to 50% of the installed modules on these sites are not working or having problems.

Plus I did read posts so again Safety first - "Stupidity" after.

First let us the car run then we may decide to modify or tune it.

Dear Mariane,

I am convinced and I will install the latest version on a subfolder and will test it thoroughly, however then you or Ghia please be so kind and give me a list of the

modules currently running on xoops.org
with working and active download links.

Also a blog module which works on the current version.

After reading through several posts I do not want to mess around in the beginning with modules who might and might not work on the current version.

From there on I will build the site and this will us ( the community and me save a lot of time and hassle to engage in more productive matters )

you know I rather refrain from beta and other not stable versions in the beginning because I do not want to lose my feeling in the beginning.

The testing I can make later if I have felt some kind of success.

thanks for your understanding and acknowledgement
