Just for the heck of it, change your admin theme. Also go to main settings and turn on the automatic update for templates thinger-dinger. (Yes, thats a highly technical term)

Oh, and one more thing, go to your modules admin and update the system modules and other modules as needed. Just for kicks.

Good luck.

I'm also with Surpass. 5GB storage, unlimited everything, yadayada for roughly 50 bucks a year. Sweet deal.

If you go with these guys, get the OC5 or OC10 package. Best bang for your buck hands down.

http://www.ichipromotions.com/modules/contact/

The comment form box is too large with it's default size. You could set up the contact page to hide the right side blocks, or edit the form template in such a way so that it is not as wide.

http://www.ichipromotions.com/modules/xoopsmembers/index.php

Almost the same as above. The results page has lots of tables that are automagically reduced, but only as far as the imagees will allow. You can reduce your avatar size, but this would require having all your users re-upload smaller versions if they are close to the maximum allowed size as indicated in your site preferences. Another alternative of course is to edit the template, create a class id for the image placeholder and add a new class to your theme .css

http://www.ichipromotions.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1021&forum=11

This one is easy. It's your signature. The banner is too long, forcing the page to elongate. Reduce your signature image to get immediate results. You would of course have to make a post for the rest of the forum users to follow suit and it will be hard to enforce on those who wish not to comply with a simple rule.

Personaly, I would go with a non-fixed width theme for your site, or edit the theme.html (and/or .css) to make your site 95% screen width or something to that effect.

As a side note, I've still been looking into the session error we have been working on. Still nothing to report. You may have to live with the nagging problem until CBB comes out with a more compatible version 2.3.x, or 2.4.x version of the module for XOOPS 2.0.13.x.

The next couple versions of XOOPS may have more compatibilty for the older modules you have, so an upgrade in the future wihout loosing your current modules is within reach.

Cheers.

For this you would have to edit the theme.html file located in themes/default directory.

You would do this for any theme that you upload and run on your server, The theme.html file is where you change your logos and other page elements.

To help clarify, Templates control how each block and other elements appear in terms of layout, while the theme takes care of the overall general layout of the site, such as colors, tables, link and text colors etc.

A very common question, so I hope this helps some.

For clarification, can someone please enlighten us on what forum modules are being developed and which are no longer being developed.

I have so far seen mentioned in this thread that both CBB and newbb are no longer being developed as actively as in the past.

Maybe I'm overlooking something.

Your first intallation should work as intended. IF you just copy the files over to another dir, it won't work until you edit the mainfile.php

To get a second installation to work, you will need to create a second DB, or create new tables with a different prefix. Your mainfile.php in the second directory will have to be modified and treated as a separate instalation.

I don't know of a rock solid way to use one DB for separate directory instalations. I have installed XOOPS up to 6 times on the same server, with some users here having over 50 installations of xoops, all with separate directories and DB for each install.

The key here is your mainfile.php settings, your db_names and/or table prefixes depending on your hosts configuration.
