Ofcourse, i went to preference for Poll and FAQ but there was no notification listed out.

This would suggest that the Poll module does not support notifications (like I said, not all modules do). There is only one notification option in Polls, which is the "Notify when poll is finished".

I haven't had a look at the FAQ module in a while but if you are not seeing anything in preferences for polls then there are none available.

Jensclass's suggestion of using the help is a great way of finding information as this question has been asked and answered (and asked and answered and asked and answered .....).

A great tip is to use google to search xoops. An example for this would be to query the following in google: poll notification site:xoops.org

Cheers.

I am not sure if this relates to your problem but I had a similar issue where my host's EXIM server would reject my emails due to an invalid RETURN on my outgoing notifications.

I tracked this down to having specified an incorrect address in System Admin -> Preferences -> Mail Setup. Both From address and From name should be filled in. The From address needs to be a valid email on the hosting machine (at least for EXIM). I had another email server reject emails due to me not having filled in anything in the From name field.

Again, HTH.

Cheers.

Hi.

Is the "Notification Option" available for FAQ, Poll other than calender?

Notifications are module dependant, which means that a module dictates what notifications it generates. That is why you get different notifications say between newbb and the news modules.

The same would be for FAQ, Poll and any other modules. You will have to investigate each module in turn and see what notifications it makes available.

I would like to send notifications to the user as soons as a new FAQ is posted or new poll is launched.

First check what notifications the FAQ modules makes available. If it does not support what you require then it would have to be "programmed" into a module.

You can quickly check what notifications are available by installing the module then go to Admin -> Module -> Preferences, which should list all available notifications at the bottom of the module's preferences screen.

HTH.

Cheers.

Have you checked out xProject? I tend to use for my own software development and at a few client's sites. It also integrates with SVN by recording all SVN commits from your project's SVN repository.

Cheers.

I've managed to fix the CSS by re-writing the entire thing. Evidently it was corrupt though IE could read it. Makes you wonder why FireFox users beatup on IE when it (FF) can't interpret a file which visually appears perfect.

Lol. Wait till you have to do serious CSS based development for IE then you will curse the day it was release.

I'd love to see how many websites will be broken once IE7 ships.

What causes this?

Bad CSS file? FF has an error console that will report any errors in your CSS. Did you have a look there?

how i can automatically logon in dotproject using the logon on xoops? a only step for two logons...

You can't do it automagically as XOOPS and .Project are two different systems with their own respective user databases. You will have to write a "bride" that links the two system through a common logon.

Hi there.

AFAIK, you can't. This information has to be read from the mainfile.php file.

Cheers.
