sailjapan: when people have time and know-how, yes, there is support for XOOPS. Everyone here is a volunteer.

This is a very serious issue, if the developers of XOOPS cannot have a quick solution to such a simple, common and expected issue, then it raises a doubt about the whole XOOPS security and reliability, especially if some issues rely on volunteers to sort them at there own time, our businesses and websites do not understand that.
The CAPTCHA confirmation code should be an optional added feature and not a mandatory, this thing has made my site stuck and thats why am upset.
Other than that I LOVE XOOPS but the developers and support team should wake up to the time.

I have tried like four different Forum module but non can satisfy my need.

I would like to have multiple categories or forums under each other as opposed to the 2 available. e.g where someone can scrawl.

MAIN: EUROPE
SUB: ENGLAND
SUB: LONDON
SUB: STRATFORD

How can i accomplish that?

Thanks

Hi,
I backed up my database from my server Jan 2008. Today March 2009 i am trying to restore the old txt database on the latest XOOPS but the site goes white page although sometime i can see the old contents from the admin panel but the main site is plain white.
How can i solve that or install the old DB perfectly?
Thanks

I understand what you mean though. It'd be nice to remove the pseudo-option from the menu.

Thanks for the follow up, the fact that users have a chance to choose Webmaster as there group, in itself is a disaster.

Profile module developers should respond or even the XOOPS developer team as the module is now included in the XOOPS 2.3.1 Final Release.

If you go past the first registration step1, you will land to the 2nd where i have created different groups representing different countries. But the original 3 groups remain Webmasters, Registered Users and Anonymous. its on that point while i want users to select there group in terms of countries this module is giving them the chance to select the 3 that i have mentioned above including the Webmaster which is the site Administrator.

Please look at it HERE You need to make a fake registration to see. *the site is test and all registration will be deleted.

This is a lovely module, for me, am good to go if i can know how i can HIDE the Group (Webmaster) from showing in the field for group select.

I have created a new field and set Field Type: Group select.

From the list of my groups, how can i deselect groups like Webmaster that people on that field don't have the option of choosing there group as Webmaster.

You all know thats the group everyone will choose although in testing its just placing people on the registered group.

Is there a way i can remove such group from being selectable? or what am i doing wrong?

Thanks

But

sailjapan Seems like using the rank option is the only way out.
Thanks i will have to use your idea although its half of what i needed but all in all it will get me going.

You would have to make a plan on paper first though lol, could get confusing.

Thats what the plan on the paper suggested that there ought to be that kind of field. I installed XOOPS when it was still 2.3.0 and have been working on the paper plan until i upgraded to 2.3.1 and still the site aint open. LOL seems like i will have to forget that field.
