1. The ability to resize images.
2. Thumbs
3. The ability to use it as a site image manager for insertion into content.
4. Option to use lightbox.
5. Ability to insert thumbs, resized or full size images into content.

Post a link on a site that gets searched regularly or install google maps and get a user id.

You can control who makes pages using the group features for control.

Have you looked at SmartPartners or Wiwimod?

There are several solutions available.

Check out xAsset it seems to be the most agressively developed.

Yes it does work with news 1.44!

The contents for each block change be selected for the edit blocks page. I use multiple news topics in some blocks.
