Did you updated the module?

Any time you make any changes to a template file(or any .html file) you need to updated the module.

go to administration menu >> system admin >> modules then click on the hard drive looking icon to the right of the xdirectory module. Click "Update" and that should refresh the files to show up on your site.

Hello Munchcra,

In the file: /templates/xdir_viewcat.html

on @ line #9 replace link:
<a href="/modules/xdirectory/submit.php">Submit a Listing</a></div>

with this
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/xdirectory/submit.php">Submit a Listing</a></div>

That should fix your problem.

As for the categories...
If you are using phpMyAdmin to administer your DB then its just a matter of creating a .txt file of the categories and then import them using the import function.

If you don't have phpMyAdmin then you'll have to type them in one at a time.

hope this helps.

you should be able to find it in the Administration Menu >> xdirectory >> Listings Waiting for Validation (1)

Let me know if this doesn't work.

do you mean 6 subcategories deep like this?

main category
-category 1
--category 1
---category 1
----category 1
-----category 1
------category 1

Or 6 subcategories of a main category like this:

main category
-category 1
-category 2
-category 3
-category 4
-category 5
-category 6

There shouldn't be any limitations that I'm aware of. Do you have a site I can see?

I too agree with draven.

The biggest compliment you can give to the devs is to become an active member in this community working to make XOOPS even better.

my 2 cents

I guess I should feel flattered since it is a complete knock-off of my site - except for the colors.

oops, nevermind I just found it in the advanced search option

I'll just pull the code from there and create my own search box in the module.

Is there a way to use the /search.inc.php file found in most modules to search for items in that specific module only?

I am trying to create a search function for one module on my site and I was just wondering if there was an easy way to do this by using the search.inc.php file.

Any help is appreciated.

Is there some way of keeping a log of all the search words that site visitors type into the XOOPS search box?

I would like to know this information because it influences our decisions on what features we want to implement.

I use categories because I run a community based website where I have multiple groups posting events. In some cases the calendar is jam packed full of events and it's nice to be able to select a category that your most interested in and view only those events like Schools, fairs and festivals, government meetings, etc.

I think that feature can be added to PiCal fairly easily. more easily than adding the recurring event feature to agenda-x IMHO
