check your php.ini file for this directive:

session.save_path "/some/path/to/temp"

Make sure this path exists and the directory isn't full.

different problem... sailjapan has a php.ini issue. You seem to be missing files. Try uploading the files again. You can also check using the "Files Integrity Check" instructions here

did you try pixel values?
i.e
width: 640px
height: 480px

This works for me with both pixel and percentage values with XOOPS 2.3.3 and my-iframe 1.4.

I'll check it out tomorrow, I thought maybe in preferences somewhere you could set UTF-8 without Byte-Order Mark...

If you want files converted before then email them to me and I'll gladly convert and return to you.

How does one save a file 'without BoM'?

(I use Mac, so no 'notepad++')

You can save in UTF-8 with textedit on your Mac. Not sure about BoM, should be in the save options. I can't check until tomorrow but I am sure I saw it there.

Keep in mind there are potential security issues and module incompatibility with older versions of xoops.

You should consider updating the older themes to work with the new block layout and code references in the 2.3x distro.

Sorry, I just responded to the question without reading the full post. I will return to lurking and refrain from answering forum posts now :)

from the control panel:
preferences->general settings
Change the value in the default theme selection box to default, click the go button at the bottom of the forum to save your changes. You may have to logout and log back in to see the default theme.

Or did he not follow the correct procedure?

I wondered the same thing. Perhaps mainfile.php was not writable during the upgrade. Was something missing from the file copy process? Was the installation aborted at some stage of the install?

P.s nice tutorial Bandit-x :)
