Development - XOOPS beats all. XOOPS is the cleanest in terms of codes (my biased opinion, of course) and it is very easily to extend. It is not difficult to develop your own custom modules.

"looks department" - XOOPS uses CSS, your creativity and imagination is the the limit.

Don't know the reason of your doing that. It would be a major task for each poll - clone your template, change the template, update the template, then change the template back, update your template again. I am not sure if you want to do that. But why not showing results?

[edit]
template file
modules/xoopspoll/templates/blocks/xoopspoll_block_poll.html
at the end of the file, remove
<tr>
    <
td class="foot" align="center" colspan="2"><input type="submit" value="<{$block.lang_vote}>" /> <input type="button" value="<{$block.lang_results}>" onclick="location='<{$xoops_url}>/modules/xoopspoll/pollresults.php?poll_id=<{$poll.id}>'" /></td>
  </
tr>

then add it back

* Edit - changed the above to use the [ code ] block rather than a quote one

I just tried to point out to you if you are very unlikely to get answers by double, triple posting in here or anywhere.

As of your previous post, if you are not getting answers, bumping it up to the front page will get others' attention. If nobody can help you with, then you will not be getting answers. But it is not because others ignore you.

Your questions - you would have to define a trigger mechanism in order to show the poll results. It would require hack (might be major) to your theme and poll script. I never used poll before, so can't help you further on this.

There is a button called Search, use it.

If you BOTHER to take the time to browse through the forums, you will see XOOPS community a very friendly place but people tend to ignore inconsiderate people. Also you will also find that people do not double-post for their questions.

What make you think posting three times would get your answers faster??

If you are not getting any answers, then you know why. It is seen as plain rude to double-post or triple post here.

Did you solve your problem?

Everyone makes mistakes. XOOPS community support is fast and friendly, a single post would get most people's attention. Just bump the thread up if it does not get answered.

Make sure you have php-mysql installed properly.

Please do not double-post in the future - it is an unspoken rule here. Double-posted questions tend to be ignored by many.

You can take a look at this
http://xoops-tips.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=28

As I have mentioned, you will be effectively removing the Xoops' redirect feature. That may not be desireable to other users - if someone is browsing Newbb, he or she would like to be directed back to Newbb for posting, not the directory you have specified. So take your pick.

As Solo has pointed out, if you don't give access to search engines, they will not record your contents.

You could create a custom block at your web frontpage listing your content titles so Google will record them. Since Google can't click to get the full contents, the content titles will be ranked very low. So the value of doing that is really debatable.

To get a higher ranking, Google has to crawl the contents and people are clicking on contents. You may want to check the following thread on Google ranking.

Google lifts search secrets

Xoops always keeps a re-direct link for user logins, so it will direct user back to where he/she starts from. Once you were to log in from user.php page because you had supplied wrong user/password combo, you would be re-directed back to user.php page which would show your profile.

Unless you modify user.php or /include/checklogin.php file, there is not much you can do about it. If you were to make changes, then you would lost XOOPS re-direct feature.

Little TIP:
But if in the future you were to be directed to user.php for re-login because of wrong password, click your browswer's back botton and re-login with your correct password. This way you would be re-directed back to where you started from.
