i tend to use a standalone package..

such as bigdump or even phpmyadmin (which can compress if you want)

I try to use the bb-code for sound but it doesn't work...

example:
[sound-]www.example.com/test.mid[/audio] (without the -)

Am i doing something wrong?

this thread is for discussing ideas, not for individual problem solving of bbcodes. did you actually edit the text sanitizer file to include [sound] tag?

try the css file in the module folder.. or search the forum, i'm sure there's numerous posts regarding it.

also you can change the styles of drop down menu from preferences..

yeah, make sure you uploaded the correct folder to the correct folder.

if u unzip a module and you see it has folders such as htdocs/html etc..

the only folder you copy is the 1 that contains xoops_version.php.

most likely you may need to change the memory limit in php.ini to a higher value, along with MAX_POST_SIZE.

if you are on a shared server, it's likely you can't do this yourself so you should ask your host. a lot of the hosts that offer hosting plans on the cheap have set memory limits to 8M in php.ini which is really low by todays standards.

i could be wrong, but from what i remember of it, it stores the filename in the db.

then adds the url when you see it on the output.. the url is taken from XOOPS_URL in mainfile.php

so i'm almost sure it'll be fine.

mydownloads & a few other modules that store url's in the db will have to be edited tho.

i just found this >

If you are using a recent version of mysqldump to generate a dump to be reloaded into a very old MySQL server, you should not use the --opt or --extended-insert option. Use --skip-opt instead.

when you dump the DB (using phpmyadmin)

there's a tickbox to dump the db in mysql4.0 compatibility, if you tick that box before dumping, you should be able to restore to an older version..

i'm not sure with commandline functions, but i would presume that somewhere there would be an option for compatibility..
