Silly me...I forgot to update the AMS module after making the changes to the .html files. All better now and works like a charm!

Bravo to brash for putting AMS out there for the masses!

Okay, I managed to take care of most of this by simply editing the modules/AMS/include/storyform.inc.php file. I reset the Approve permissions for Registered Users to "All" and everything works fine now.

However, I need to remove the article footer with the rating images, "Edit", etc., on both modules/AMS/index.php and modules/AMS/article.php. I don't need any of these displayed on either page.

Where do I do this? I've looked in the ams_index.html, ams_article.html and ams_item.html but just can't seem to make any changes (and yes, "Update module templates" is ON).

Well, thanks to brash, we're upgraded to AMS 2.41 and everything's working fine, except...none of the submissions posted by registered users are being displayed on the modules/AMS/index.php page. This happens regardless if the registered user has Approve permissions or not. What am I doing wrong here?

Also, if registered users don't have Approve permission, the fields in submit.php obviously change. Is it necessary for registered users to actually have Approve permission in order to submit articles? This would seem to negate the use of the Submit permission...And, if this is the case, I need to get rid of all the extra fields in the submit.php (especially the upload, or select file field) that we don't need:

Display Image?
Position
Publish in Home?
Audience
Banner/Sponsor
Select file
Options

Any suggestions?

Yes, brash just explained the problem better than I could have done. This is one post I forgot to follow-up.

He's absolutely correct: Two seemingly small mistakes created a huge functionality issue with our site. We should have been live two months ago as we informed our users we would be, but because I was simply unfamiliar with Smarty tags and their use in XOOPS vs. hardcoding static links in .html pages, I totally screwed-up the site without even realizing it. Sure, I'm a newbie with XOOPS and even a rank amateur with PHP and MySQL, but not knowing a thing about the use of Smarty really had a negative impact on our site's development. My advice here is to click on the links to your right under "Powered By" if you're unfamilair with the nature of XOOPS and what "makes it tick". You will learn more than you imagined.

In conclusion, allow me to point out that I am 100% sure that it's experiences like mine that lead new XOOPS users to hair-pulling frustration and even leaving XOOPS for other solutions to their needs (I know, I almost left as well); but thanks to the perseverance of the XOOPS Core Team members and the many well-learned XOOPS users who stand by XOOPS and all it has to offer, my faith in XOOPS as a sound and reliable CMS is wholly restored. XOOPS should be known or marketed as a Content Managment Solution rather than simply Content Management Software.

So, bravo to brash, carnuke, mithrandir and the many others who helped get our site running smoothly out of the box. My hat is off to all of you.

Much thanks to brash for helping me out on this one...turns out one problem I'd inadvertently created was causing many others.

Thanks, brash.

Much thanks to brash for finding the solution to fixing the log-in problems we were having. Sorry about that...silly me.

Please have a look at our new XOOPS site and give us your feedback:

Thank you.

brash,

I checked your user account and all seems well...You're definitely in the registered users list, active, etc.

I sent an email out (you'll probably get one) inquiring about the problem. We'll see what happens next I guess.

Thanks.

PS I have a user online right now who just joined today and he's doing okay so far.
