Haven't seen any yet.

Maybe someone else knows of one?

Well, you could use a news block on front page and then not set NEWS as default module. (no default module)

Try it to see if it works for you..

I find the current news modules lack the ability to display news on front page (in a block) in the same format as the /modules/news/index.php displays the news.

Hopefully, this can be added sometime soon.

The best solution if your host supports it is to setup an Announcement list using GNU MailMan

You should ask your host if they have this available or can soon.

Then you just create a XOOPS block with info how to subscribe like:

----------------------
Our Announcement list
info goes here...

Enter Email _________
[Subscribe]
[Unsubscribe]
-----------------------

Thats what I would do.

GNU MailMan is nice sine once you have it setup, you just send and email to one address (your announcement list) and it automatically gets sent to all subscribers on your list.

Just a suggestion...

Thats funny...

Im using XLHD with great success...

My host decided to cut off use of fopen(url) for security reasons, so now I cannot use XOOPSHeadlines, since it doesnt use fsockopen.

The fact that XLHD uses fsockopen is wonderful... I can still use RSS on my more secure server :)

Honestly, could you state the reason why you need PHP5.

PHP5 is new and breaks many PHP scripts being used currently, including XOOPS. XOOPS 2.4 should support PHP5, although that will be in the future.

I would recommend using PHP4... you will solve many, many issues.

Well, theres a few things goinf on here.

The admin | preferences setting for “Update module template .html” only applies to the main XOOPS theme in use.

If you want to edit the module templates,
You still have to do the System -> Modules -> Update to update the modules template changes.

Thats how it works, and its rather intuitive to me. But I can see the possible confusion.

After a while, it will be easier to understand why i think.

Hope that helps,

Hi kdollar, welcome to XOOPS :)

You need to edit the appropriate smarty template file where that html/smarty code displays what you are talking about.

I never used that module yet, nor do i know how many temples it has..they are under /module/myreview/templates/

and after making the proper edits to the file, FTP it to server and go into XOOPS admin | modules admin

find the myreviews module, and click the 'Update' button to the right of that.

This will update the smarty tempplate into the XOOPS database, and then you will see your changes on the site.

Have fun!

main.php is for the module lang point defines.
admin.php is for the Admin lang defines.
modinfo.php is for the xoops_version.php and preferences lang defines.
blocks.php is for the Block lang defines

Hope that helps...

You can look into most well crafted XOOPS modules and see this.

There are also some naming standards that are good to follow.
like _AM_MODULE_LANGVAR or something similar.

I believe this will ensure nothing eats something else.

AM means Admin
MI means modinfo
MB means blocks
MD means main

_MODULE_ should be something unique to identify your module short abbrev.

I hope this helps.

Maybe you can go into Admin | Preferences | General Settings and select Danish as the default language.

I think you need to install the Multi-Languages add-on to XOOPS or maybe its already in 2.2.2 ... A tiny bit out of my area.

I'm sure someone can answer this better than me, Im just a dumb mono-lingual American.

Not at all.. Its not even an error..

Its a PHP Notice.

To fix it, edit the file modules/xoopspartners/index.php and add somewhere good above line 101:

settype($pagenav,"integer");

Also, you dont even have to do that, just ignore it and turn off php_debug.

but adding this line of code will suppress the notice even in php_debug mode.
