I'm going to resurrect this thread because apparently this problem has not been solved yet. I would appreciate any response.

Just within the past week, I have set up a completely new installed of Xoops. Version 2.0.15.

I have installed the latest installation of CBB (or newbb). Version 3.05.

Last night, I announced a reopening of the website, fresh and new. People have been posting away in the forums, which is great.

Other than myself, I have had one complaint of getting an error message when posting. The error message is:

Invalid submission. You could have exceeded session time. Please re-submit or make a backup of your post and login to resubmit if necessary.

In my preferences, I have Time limit for consecutively posting set to "0".

Could this problem be occurring because there are many people trying to post at the same time?

Any advice would be helpful!

Christian - This command helped me with about half of my work. Thanks!

I just can't understand why, when the database says the user is a level 1, that it's not recognized when you go in to edit the user. In fact, there is no "rank" selected and in order for the person to log in, it has to be manually selected.

Thanks for the sympathy. I've been at it for about six hours now and I'm only halfway through. I thought I was doing better, then I realized that XOOPS only shows page numbers up to 50 for users. And there are 10 users a page. So, here I thought I was done when I hit page 50. Ugh!!

There's got to be an easier way to update this stuff!

Christian - I read over your instructions, and tried them, but I couldn't get them to work. I think it's because my users file is already is 2.15 format. Any other ideas would be appreciated!

Right now, I'm still updating manually. I've done four pages, only ??? many more to go!

Jenclas - Thanks for the info on that thread. I had already read it and it doesn't apply here. I have a database of almost 1200 users, 79 of them are not activated, because they never activated their membership. The rest all have a level of "1" already.

Ok - One more post for help and then I'll start going through 1200 members to get them activated again.

Here is my manual two step process. If anyone who is familiar with the user database could help streamline this process, that would be wonderful!

First, I log in through xmemberstats. This is the easiest user access program that I have available.

Second, I update the User's Group since no group is selected. Then I update the user.

Third, I log back into the user's profile, and synchronize their posts.

Is there anyone who might know of a global way to fix this issue. Please help if you can! Thanks!!

Unfortunately, I have almost 1200 users. And doing it by hand will take me all weekend.

I think I've figured out what needs to be changed. When I edit a user's profile, I noticed that none of the users groups are selected; i.e., webmaster, registered, moderator

If there was some way to change that globally, that would help tremendously.

Surely we're not the only ones that have ever experienced this problem!

I'm sure there's a way to do it but haven't figured out the combination yet. It's got something to do with synchronizing the posts. I'm playing with just putting a zero in for posts for members and seeing if that works. However, since I don't know how to write mySQL expressions, it's still a one by one process for me.

I'll let you know what I find out.
