I started to create my own module, which is to support groups and permissions management by providing summary information about them. Far only for the alpha test several ideas.
Runs on XOOPS 2.4 and 2.5.

I have a general question and a few thoughts for discussion.
Are there some people who manage over 40 groups (quite possible in intranet solutions) of users in one XOOPS site? What impressions of the management of so many groups and permissions settings (with module own permissions)? Any advice?

In my case, for full flexibility would have to have the group for each department and each role. For example, we have 5 branch locations across the country and at least 10 roles (directors, managers, logistics, traders, etc.).. What gives 5x10 = 50 groups. It's getting quite a bit. Especially, it can not be set once and for all powers, because the requirements from time to time change.

Standard options in the admin panel are a bit limited in this area (although XOOPS 2.5 brings some usability improvements in users management).

I use the Group Manager by kaotik. It is very helpful, but still insufficient. The second module groupsforxoops failed to start.

I think that would be useful subgroups and propagation rights. That would probably require too many changes in the core. So I think about an module that would be a sort of overlay on the standard group and brings more organisation. For example, would create something like a virtual groups for groups with core functions propagation settings, etc.

PS. Has anyone played around with [url=http://www.doitwithdrupal.com/free-videos]Drupal and Organic Groups[url]?

FCKeditor doesn't show all icons in AMS 3.0

Hello!
I have installed the new AMS 3.0 on two sites (both XOOPS 2.3.3). At one FCKeditor does not show all icons. In the second site are all the icons.
I installed News 1.63 for test. FCKeditor works well with the news module on both sites.
Is there some additional configuration of editors?

In release notes from 2.52 Final is said that it supports WYSIWYG editors from XOOPS package. I was selected all WYSIWYG editor in module preferences. But none of them works. I try it on fresh install XOOPS 2.3.3 and 2.4.2
Should I do something more than setup module preferences?

PS. In Publisher aplha module from Trabis WYSIWYG editors are working.

Whether it is a module that shows (into XOOPS block) my bookmarks from, for example delicious.com? I can implement alone this API-PHP-Class, but maybe someone already did that.

In my php editor (I use PSPad) I have 'Format' menu where I can choose beetween:
- DOS (CR+LF)
- Unix (LF)
- MAC (CR)

If you do not have a editor, what by the just one click would change the EOL character, you can try: rename perm.php to perm_old.php, create new file, copy&paste from perm_old.php to the new one and save as perm.php.

I had no problem with batch upload, but I used this function only sporadically.
I agree that there is no option to create a new album from the user. It's a pity!
So I've created a category named "New", where users send pictures, and if necessary, I create a new album in the admin panel and move a new photos to it. But I have only a few of these users, so this solution is sufficient for me.

I had similar problem with adding category in extGallery 1.0.8 on XOOPS 2.3.3
I had to change end-of-line (EOL) characters in perm.php file. The oryginal file was set MAC style (CR), which interrupt the script on some servers configurations. Now it works fine.

I'm working on XOOPS as intranet solutions.
First of all, I suffer a lack of productive tool for managing groups and privileges. I use the Group Manager by kaotik&GIBA, because the large number of groups and users management by core admin module is very cumbersome.
Although the Group Manager is old and may not be perfect, there is no better yet.
