Hmmm, I use Photoshop and ImageReady to create my animated banners and they work fine when using the XOOPS banner system.

How are you saving your animated GIFs? What program are you currently using?

If you do a search for banner creation, there are a few online banner generators you may find useful.

In the module admin, go to "List Headlines". Under "Add Headline", enter the "Site Name" (ex: XOOPS News), the URL of the site (ex: www.xoops.org), and the URI of the feed (ex: www.xoops.org/backend.php). You can leave the other fields with the default value and/or you can customize the page and block settings.

Then you can set the blocks for your index page if you want.

Hope that gets you started

You can use blocks from each module and set the to be visible on the top page. For more information on blocks, see this FAQ section.

Hello and welcome to Xoops.

A visit to the FAQ section on Themes and Templates can hopefully help you with your question.

Also, there are a couple of visual tutorials here.

If you still have questions, feel free to post them in detail.

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you are trying to say...

The Recent News block shows X number of recent news items. When you click on the news title it will take you to the entire news item, not the news index page.

Can you explain in more detail?

In the Recent News block (news_block_top.html), you should have this:

Enable Spotlight Feature?

That is where you enable the Spotlight feature.

In XOOPS 2.0.15, in System Admin > Preferences Main > General Settings you will see:
Quote:
Check templates for modifications ?
If this option is enabled, modified templates will be automatically recompiled when they are displayed. You must turn this option off on a production site.

While this answers some of your questions (where it is and why you should turn it off), unfortunately, I can't figure out what you are trying to do or need help with.

Maybe this will help, maybe not...

I use WF-Channel for my HTML pages. I currently use <iframe> to pull in an external website page. Each time the WF-Channel page is accessed by a visitor, the external page displays the current content of the page. There is no copying-pasting involved, just the initial coding.

You can find more info on <iframe> here.

P.S. This can be done with any *content* module.

Try updating the system module through System Admin > Modules and re-generate the templates if you cloned them. That *should* fix the problem.

Hmmm, do you mean you want to add custom links to your Main Menu? If so, check this FAQ.

Or do you mean add custom links to a theme that has a navigation bar? If that is the case, you will need to edit your theme.html file and add the custom links.
