I just updated to Frameworks 1.10, which seems to have corrected the problem. Although, I'm wondering if something else is going on, since Fr4n-NeT has the same problem even with the updated Frameworks version.

I uploaded Frameworks back in December. The latest version at that time was 1.01. I see that the current version is now 1.10. I guess maybe that could be the problem.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,

I uploaded article 1.0 to my modules folder, but it was not showing up in the uninstalled modules section after the upload. I turned on the debugging, and received the following message:

Fatal errorCall to undefined method XoopsLocal::gettimeformatdesc() in /home/...../public_html/modules/article/language/english/modinfo.php on line 51

I commmented out that line (//) to see if the uinstalled module would then show up, and it did. Is there some way to fix that line without removing it? I don't want to install the module until I either fix that or know that I can do without it.

I did a search on here, but didn't find any solution to this. Although, the search function is acting buggy today.

That is in fact what may have happened. I noticed a width value missing in the center column, and thus, the module width may have defaulted to another value established elsewhere.

Theme purists prefer not to use tables...The problems you are seeing are easily fixed in css.

It could be an issue related to the way some table based themes are constructed, since some of the table based themes don't have the spacing problem. The weird thing is that the problem is occuring only within some modules (such as smartsection, AMS, News, etc). There is not a problem with any custom blocks (with static text) that I make, or with other modules such as wiwimod.

Inputting article text within an html table format (rather than using autoformat) is the only thing that seems to stop the spacing problem. I tried changing different values in the CSS, but that didn't help.

Maybe I should look for themes that are completely CSS based.

Hi,

I've noticed that with some themes, module text will have inconsistent spacing. There will be extra long spaces between some words, and an extra long space beween the first line and second line of a paragraph (almost as if there is an extra line). This problem primarily occurs with Internet Explorer, and not with Firefox. The problem doesn't occur in custom blocks that have static text.

I'm just wondering what could be causing this. It really is very bad in some otherwise great themes, which forces me to not use the theme. I'm not really sure if it is a module issue or theme issue, where something is incompatible.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

By the way, the space problem disappears when I create an html table and put the text into the table. The spacing issue may be a problem with the auto format feature. It really isn't a huge problem, but it is a lot easier to not have to create an html table when I want to add a new submission to a module.

Hi Biteronboard,

The leftcolumn entry is already set to a fixed width. I tried putting a fixed value into the center column which had no width value at all, and this fixed the left column and center column problem. However, the right column keeps shrinking and expanding depending on the width of the browser screen, even though the right column is set to a fixed width too. Something else is going on, which I haven't figured out yet.

Hi,

I'm using the GW_Business1 theme. For some reason, the left column expands/stretches too far to the right on some of the module index pages. When this happens, the module's index page looks abnormally narrow. I'm not sure if the module index page is not expanding to the correct width (and the left column is filling in the extra space), or the left column is squeezing it because it is becoming too wide. Everything is the proper width on the home page.

I'm primarily noticing this problem when I go to the News 1.51 or AMS index pages. Other modules, such as Article 0.95, Wiwimod, and Liaise work fine.

Does anyone know what can be adjusted to prevent this?

Hi Mcdonald,

Thanks for posting the topic. It fixed the alignment problem.

Now I need to figure out why the spotlight block wraps itself around all the blocks below it. Basically, all the blocks below the spotlight block end up being contained within the spotlight block.

Hi,

I'm using smartsection 2.12RC1, which is working fine except for the spotlight block. I posted on the smartfactory forum too, but figured someone here may have experienced the same problem.

Here is the problem:

I activated the smartsection spotlight block on my home page, and the most recent articles are being displayed within the block and using the bullet format (just as I selected).

The first article displayed is aligned properly, but the next article is indented towards the right a few spaces, and each article following that is indented towards the right even further. It really looks very strange.

Also, the spotlight block wraps itself around the block beneath it. I have a wiwimod block, and it ends up being contained within the smartsection spotlight block, but only when I'm using the bullet format.

This isn't a theme problem, since the same problem is occurring in every theme installed on my site. I'm using XOOPS 2.0.16.

Any ideas as to what is going on and how to fix this?

Dave
