Well I have not installed any since they all say admins have to add teh info. In this one any registered user can add a quote and then admins approve them. (Admins can also edit them, if needed)

The quotes can only be 255 characters long though.

Tonight I decided to make my first module, it is called qutoe magic.

however on any of the pages I get a blank screen, I looked around but am not sure what it is. (activated template debugger)

If you could give it a look it is appreciated.

Thanks.

Perhaps, but if someone is logged in it would just look them up.

Well if you are gonig to have a server anyway, one option might be active directory. At the same time it might not be neccisary.

You aren't understanding.

Here is what happens I set this module to be the one that starts.

When a user goes to the site the module then loads the module they individualy want to be on the frontpage.

Get it? I mean obviously I can change it as the admin but I was thinking of users having custom front pages.

I have been thinking about making a module that basicly all it does is load the module that the user has selected to be on the frontpage. (so you make it start on the frontpage and it loads the one the user wants on the frontpage)

However before I do that I want to make sure no one else has done it. Has anyone else done it?

Also I am assuming it is possible but since I do not know all the inter workings of XOOPS I could be wrong.

Well I am new to XOOPS and so am still figuringo ut how everything works but I can see useful uses of frames in xoops. THink about this, you could make each block a seperate frame (with a link to close the frame) and then have in the url variables defined using get to determine if the user once certain blocks open or not. This would be real time since the actualy closing of the frame and such does not require having to burden the server with http hits. However with the variables defined the url XOOPS would know what frames not to open for you.

ps: this is also an undeveloped idea and should probably be worded differently.

WEll niether of the guide helped much (the first one did not at least) and I didn't read the first one yet. However After spending a lot of time looking at themes and through shear will power I have gotten it to work, well it needs a lot of clean up but..

So now I have to figure out how to make it put the text over the menu pictures. How do I have it make another block? (the title and stuff)

oh and I thought the text "<{foreach item=block from=$xoops_crblocks}>" would be replaced but it isn't so.. yeah.
