setting automatic," private forum" permission?

OK,
thought I'd give this a shot,
I created a "Private Forum" so that only members could see this particular forum and it has its own block; so cool!
But I want all registered users to be able to see it...
(yes..I did in fact spend about an hour adding each and every individual member to this "private" forum ) but now well everytime someone registers...I have to amnually give them acces rights you get the idea...hehe

Is there someplace in the db? for instance that I can, set the permission for that "private" forum for all registered users?

hmm, double check group rights....
on viewing modules...access rights.

and
also dble check permissions on you cache, templates_c and uploads folder. They be just about 777.

Are you using IIS services by chance? If so how are you uploading?

I will try and help...
but Im not that uch of an "expert"

ah ha,
I think that will work as It looks familiar to something I did on my previous version. Thank you. Unfortunately I wont be able to access my server till this evening (lol, or uh...hours from now depending on where everyone is)

I have narrowed my problem down to user.php, checklogin.php
and maybe main.php. (or even common)

My problem has to with logging in to my site. When viewing news or fourm topic it kixs yoou back to the index page of that section.

Can someone point me to the files that are relevant to this behavior? Particulary in 2.0.5....Because since I did the patch , maybe the addidtion of another updated file may help?

I would say TOP STYLE pro is the best one if you want to get an idea of what your CSS is going to look like.. It has a free demo that lasts quite a while , Bradbury software.

Once you get used to it's interface it's very useful.

make sure you dont have any unclosed tags...
Sometimes you may want to add a <div> tag.

But more simply make sure you choos the FORMAT for the block.. It's a little weird. Try Autoformat-smilies for instance.....then try HTML....etc...etc..

In my experience thus far....the message board gets sought out the most. Look up a XOOPS based site and ask to see "omitted results" and chances are you are going to see a lot of bb posts. I have been a little dissapointed that news doesn't get indexed as much...but over all yes it does get spidered and indexed.

The only thing I wish we could remedy is..pages that are wrapped, and iff you have a lot of links on it, then they don't really get search like a static page would.

But if you create custom blocks (html) these are usually searched as well...
