Hi,

I just looked at phpCOIN, and by this:

Quote:

Copyright: phpCOIN is protected by copyright. You will receive the full source code and can change it to suit your own needs, but you may not use the source code, either in whole or in part, in any other software package. Additionally, you may not remove the "Powered by phpCOIN" footer text unless you pay the license fee to do so. Copyright for the source code up to and including v1.2.0 is owned by Mike Lansberry. Copyright for the source code for v1.2.1 and higher is owned by Stephen Kitching.

I'm assuming we can't use it for XOOPS, as a module or anything, ..."you may not use the source code, either in whole or in part, in any other software package".

What do you think that means ? Seems straight foward to me.

Peter

It's basically the same script that "Bassman" mentioned in this thread, see 4th post.

Thanks anyway,

Hi,

Thanks very much for the update, or should I say 'the real news' on the development on the XOSC module.

On the osCommerce side of things, milestone 3 (MS3) will hopefully be released soon. I do not know how soon though, but it will itself be more modularised, and use a templating schema - for both the overall look and program output. Also, more use of classes and moving to an OOP based architecture are some of the goals.

I mention this because an XOOPS module containing osCommerce is obviously based on 2.2 MS-2 version, whilst osC 2.2 MS-3 is (hopefully) just around the corner, some major changes in fact.

Hi,

Contrary to posts in this thread about the OSC module being dead, this:

http://xosc.xoops2.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=147&forum=5&post_id=642#forumpost642

tells me it is alive and kicking.

Zen Cart is only a 'branch' off osCommerce, and is not really considered superior to osCommerce. The next milestone release of osCommerce (MS3) will have a template system.

Seems like we both similar ideas. I don't like the methods of having to modify code, and so have made a "embrionic" test version, with the settings (web hosting plans/features) in the database. Hopefully, once it is all database driven, I will then see how to make a module of it, all driven from 'admin'. You can take a peek here:

http://jehoshua.net/hosting_plans.php

but, ..... hey, it's still crawling, lots of work to be done on it still. This is actually my first PHP/MySQL work done completely from scratch (it's much easier modifying someone elses code <g> ), so I'm using it as a tutorial, to try out different things.

Nice looking site, I had visited that today, in searching around, but didn't know which one it used. It uses the (XOOPS) "PhpScripture" module.

Hi,

It looks like the Mambo module doesn't store any data within Mambo at all, i'ts just a form/search to access this site:

http://www.biblegateway.com

and run the query from there, pass the results back.

Hi,

When I was looking at Mambo (before I found XOOPS of course <g> ), I found a Mambo module to do a bible search, see:

http://mamboforge.net/projects/bibelsuche/

This website has the module in action:

http://www.westacc.org/

Possibly the module could be ported to XOOPS ??

Hi,

This template is also missing the file 'hbar.gif', I have been getting a lot of 404's in the web server logs:

Quote:

File does not exist:
/themes/karate_redux_blue/hbar.gif

I assume I just copy the file hbar.gif from the /themes/default path.

I have done some search and replace in the sourcecode of the news 1.2 module to create a product module. So far I have only replaced news/topic/topics with product/category/categories. Some day I will start to play with templates and menus for the module. The module can be downladed HERE.

Thanks for the link to your products module, it looks like you have done some extensive work on it already.
