You could check out the Countdown module that I'm working on. It's still in the very first version, but is stable and working. As of right now, users can add countdowns for themselves, but I intend on adding public / private countdowns. Any other feature requests would be a plus. It's a really basic module right now. If you wanna check it out, the thread with all of the information about the module, and where to download from is right here.

If you want to add any features to the bug tracker on my site, please go ahead, and I will decide if it is a worty feature of being added in.

You have to be registered to be able to use it.

An intended feature is to allow anonymous users to post and view public countdowns. But this is the first version, so it will come!...hehe

Thanks

Thanks for the feature requests. I'll be sure to add those. If you want to checkout how features are going, just check out the bug tracker on my site. Judenware - Bug Tracker. Feel free to add more feature requests.

Hey everyone. I have been working on a new module and I'm releasing the first bata version. This is a countdown module that allows registered users to create their own events and view a countdown of how long until the event is expired. It's pretty basic right now, but I'm open to suggestions. There is no need for an admin side right now, so there isn't an admin side to the module. The module is located on my website (Judenware). Feel free to sign up on the site, it's a new site, with hardly any members.
The link to the actual download is here.

Countdown Module

*If you regiser on the site, you can also try out the countdown module.

If you find any bugs, please report them here. Place any bug reports under the project called countdown.

* ackbarr - fixed link to www.judenware.org

Are you trying to install xoops?

If you are trying to install xoops, you may want to upload the XOOPS code again. It appears that you only have a few of the folders that are needed for xoops. You have the install folder, but all folders inside of the .tar or .zip packages need to be in your website's directory. You will want every folder and file that is inside the html folder of the XOOPS code.

Just got done posting a newer version on my site (Judenware). Something I could do instead of adding an admin side for one preference is I could also have a link to allow showing all countdowns instead of just ones that haven't expired.

Most likely the reason that it didn't show up, is that you probably made it for a time that had already expired. It doesn't show anything that is expired. I'm thinking that this might be a setting to allow an admin to change. Allow them to edit how long after a countdown expires that it is still shown to the user.

Hey cbhelms, all is going well on the module so far. As of right now, I haven't implemented an admin side to the module. I haven't actually seen a need for it. All countdowns are managed by the user themselves. I have the module as it is for demo on my website (Judenware), please excuse the site for content, I just opened up the site on Friday. Still working on getting everything the way that we want it. The module is not done yet, but if you register on the site, you can play with the module to see what you think.

Oh yeah, the module is called countdown.

Let me know what you think of it.

Things I still need to work on:
1. I need to add an edit page, to allow editing the countdowns.
2. I need to add a delete button on the edit page.
3. I need to change the add form to use the calendar button, instead of the date and time text boxes (so, right now only the date and time text boxes work.)
4. And I need to fix the starting date to open to today's date when opening the calendar button on the add countdown page.
