Looking for a good classified ads module

Has anyone tried porting Noah's Classifieds into a XOOPS module? It has enough features to make it quite useful and it runs smoothly. If only it could be made to use the XOOPS core login system.

I've seen posts referring to multi-menu where, I gather you can set up your own main menu and set group permissions so users could access an outside application without a separate login(?) Haven't been able to find it or sufficient docs to tell me what it really does.

I have MyAds in the french->english version but the english needs a lot of work. I tried to get the japanese version that several folks indicated has a better english translation but the downloaded file from their site is a tar file and my Winzip won't open it. It reports that the file is empty.

In MyAds there is a long list of constants defining english phrases that are ultimately combined to make sentences displayed in the app and in the notification emails. My last resort will be to take on the tedious task of piecing together the various combinations to make good english phrasing so I can use it.

Just hoping there's a simpler alternative.

Fritz -- I have similar needs for a new site I'm building, which happens to be in our mutual home state!http://oklahomacycling.net.

I want to modify the member's profiles so my members can create profiles that show their individual cycling interests... number and type of bicycles owned, favorite rides, etc.

I'm interested in anything you might be able to share that would point the way. Thanks.

Jim

That setting is for comments. I have the same question about setting flat vs. threaded in the forums. Any ideas out there?

Elegantly simple! That fixed it. Thanks!

Thanks. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick. The table and the entire db checked ok. I repaired the table and the db anyway. Then made a copy of the xoops_session table and emptied it. Then I went to the site, logged in, same results... welcome screen with my login name then returned to anonymous user with no access.

I noticed in the empty session table there were now three entries. The first is presumably where I opened the site. The second has data about me in the sess_data field. The third has no data in the sess_data field and is preumably where I was booted back to anonymous user status.

Any more suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I've been working on my XOOPS site for a couple of weeks and have accessed it several times daily using the login/pass I set up at installation (with fantastico). I've never had a problem with login so far. Suddenly today it stopped working.

The only thing I can think of that I did today is modify language/english/global.php to change how the date and time are displayed.

Now when I login, I get the screen that welcomes me by name but then I'm returned to the anonymous index page with no user menu, etc. I tried putting /admin.php to the url and am denied access.

The site ishttp://oklahomacycling.net

Any ideas where I should check? Thank you.

I think I understand the difference between themes and templates. Themes are the appearance and templates are the layout, yes? If so, do most theme packages include templates or do they come separately?

Thanks. Found 7dana already, I'll look at the others. Don't need too many choices, you know?

Thanks! And I assume the most visible theme designers in these forums typically provide the best packages with docs?
