Could you just be a bit more specific in what you want to do?

If you were able to identify the software firewall as the cause of the error, just add your site to the allowed/approved sites in your software firewall. That way, you don't have to disable it when browsing your site.

That seems to be a Recent News block. The News Module has that. Check the blocks in your Sys Ad -> Blocks after you've installed the News Module.

About separating the categories, you can use the Topics Block module until the newer version of the News Module is released. You can also check the recent thread, "Displaying News by their Category".

If you have your Software Firewall on, do a search using "Norton Firewall Login" as keywords.

It has something to do with making XOOPS an "allowed site" in your software firewall.

Just give the Anonymous Group Module Access Rights to the News Module. Go to Sys Ad -> Groups and edit the Anonymous Group.

But as far as I know you can only select 1 topic with that module.

This is not true. I set 2-3 Topics per block using the Topics Block module. Just separate the News Topic IDs with commas (1,4,8) when you configure a block.

I too am waiting for the new News mod so this will be integrated.

Click on the big, red "XOOPS 2.06" on the Welcome Block at the front page.

Can you be a bit more specific at what you want to do?

The way modules want their icons or section images uploaded are different from the way the Image Manager uploads files. Some mods want you to FTP them to an images/ or uploads/ directory.

Images uploaded through the Image Manager can be used for News articles or Forum Posts.

I have no experience with this module but shouldn't 'regular' module uninstallation work?

In the Modules Admin page, uncheck the module to deactivate it (4th column, I think) then submit. AFter that, you get a new option to uninstall in the last column. Then just click on the uninstall icon.

If you need to do manual deletion in DB, just check the sql file used (usually found in the sql/ folder) of the module and check what tables were created by that module.
