I want to know is there a specific RSS module available for XOOPS. I'll try to explain how it shouyld work:

You enter RSS feed URL and instead of displaying RSS titles only, it extracts RSS text and stores it on your website for ages.

Ordering my blocks

I have a serious problem when ordering content blocks on homepage.

There is how I made it on XOOPS admin pane:

1. "Welcome 2-Software" (Center-center, position 0)
2. "Latest Downloads" and "Most Popular Software" (center-left and center-right, positions 1)
3. "Recent Change Logs" (Center-center, position 2).

And you can see how it looks like:http://www.2-software.net/



If I specify "Latest Downloads" and "Most Popular Software" block to be displayed center-center, it's ok then. But what is wrong now? Why "Welcome 2-Software" goes down?

News 1.3 Submit Function

Submit function on News 1.3 just stopped working suddenly and I can't imagine what is wrong. It worked just fine, and now I always get an error message when trying to submit a new story (I can open a submit form, but error comes immediately after pressing the Submit button):


You tried to access the addresshttp://www.soft-news.net/modules/news/submit.php, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.


This error indicates, that server is down, but it works fine. Ideas?

WF-Downloads and Category View

I'm using WFDownloads module for my new project and it's really great. But i'd like to make one change.

Now, when you open any category with downloads, you see a full description of download, right? And if one download item has a description of 200 words for example, while the second one has a description of 20 words, it looks bad.

Is it possible to make this:

When you view a category, just a basic description (10 first words for example) is displayed in category view and you see a full description after clicking on item details only.

Like in subcategories: as you see, not all subcategories are displayed, just few and the goes "..."

I have a question related to Local XOOPS Support. I see there are some official links in this XOOPS website which point to XOOPS Support websites in other languages.

But there is no link to XOOPS Lithuania, so i decided to make it. I was the first person in Lithuania which started using XOOPS, made Lithuanian Language Pack, etc. Now i get lots of questions and help requests in my country. That's why i decided to start XOOPS community in Lithuania.

The only one thing: i don't want to buy a new domain, after talking with other people, thought i could setup a separate category in my Message Board for XOOPS community and create subforums. Guys like this idea. I just don't know, is it possible to get an "official" status (and link in XOOPS Partners directory) by doing this, or is it required to make another 100% XOOPS dedicated website?

Hello friends of XOOPS,

I just launched my personal blog dedicated for webmasters. The reason? I have launched my website 6 months ago and was total newbie in search engines optimization, having some extra cash from website, etc. Now my website generates hundreds of dollars every month, gets very good traffic from search engines. It's not very hard. And i just thought: why shouldn't i to share my personal experience and help others?

Even if blog is related to business, it's not commercial. As you see, there aren't any ads or advertisements, it means this post isn't created to get some traffic only ;)

I know, it's not powered by XOOPS (my main commercial website uses XOOPS) but it's dedicated for all webmasters (not only XOOPS users) and i'd be very happy to hear your opinion (even if it is very negative or bad) and suggestions.

Interesting issue with XOOPS.

Using News module as start page and i need to display one custom center block at the top of website. So i created a new block and asigned Weight 0. But block still appears just below all the news and of course isn't visible if user doesn't scroll page down. How can i make it to be displayed above News?

Thanks for fast and prompt reply. The problem is, that myalbum module is very complicated (to make it search engines optimized) and i didn't find any way to make it work by assigning a title on PHP files (i did it with all the other modules i have).

Developer told to make it via templates :(
