How are you Mamba? Thanks for replying...
It is V 1.03 recent Wishcraft release.

Here is the Pic

There are unfortunately not many marketable synonyms for "marquee". Maquee is how Wishcraft pronounces it so thats how he spelled it?

Hello XOOPS world,
Just tried out the Marquee module to explore its capability to sequence banners in the narrow left or right column content blocks. The sequencing does woirk very good but images position such that they overlap 1/4 of the way below the blocks lower limt and into the area of the block below it. The module prefs feature limited css margin settings that have no effect for the bottom margin (does not adjust block bottom relative to bottom of images at all).

Adjusting length settings for both the marquee (and/or that of the pref settings) only scales the image lengthwise but it still hangs below the same amount no matter what. I will be further checking the themes style.css as a possible influence, but wanted to get this out there, and if anyone else has found/fixed this or can fix this, it would be great to hear from them.

Also any descriptive text entered for images does not display, only a red dot appears at the upper left corner above the image. But then again I do not know if it was even the intent of the developer for it to do that anyways.

Thanks
xoob

Hello fellow XOOPS fans,
The Membership module sounds like it really has awesome potential for XOOPS. So I recently went to give it a test drive and the installation results for the install frame are shown below below. Second to last line shows "Failed to execute xoops_module_install_membership". After installing and going to the module admin it displays only the status bar, but no admin controls. There are no errors in Firebug net or script trace when opening this. Perhaps the message and symptom are related?

Thanks much,
viva le XOOPS!

Hello everyone,
Here are some ideas I have found would be useful in increasing XOOPs versatility for members.

A user opt out of his/her being displayed in whos online. This could be an added option in users profile settings

Add public/private designation for groups.
-a private group is a group of people who exist in a bubble, and are not visible or accessible by users in other groups private or public (i.e. who's online or the private messaging user select menu). They can see and access other members in the group however.

-a public group is where the masses hang out and whose availability and activity are readily available to anyone in any public, but not private group. This would skyrocket XOOPs popularity for business use as separate departments could be ran out of one CMS as separate groups.

-For groups designated private, users within any such group only see members within their group under whos online and private messaging user selects etc. and would have access to private subsets of available module services such as forum, chat, files etc dedicated to their group but not accessible by any others. This is a simple matter of permissions.

-ach private group could have an option for a custom html or php home page
the user can upload for display in the center container.

-capability for easy group level admin control for group leader to tweak
permissions to induct new members into a private group (similar to a friend), or
ban an existing member. This would probably be a group profile, the equivalent
of an individual profile, but on a group level for the admin of a group.
.
Just ideas. Very nice and practical ones at that.

Wishcraft must be conserving his carbon emissions and hibernating now that they are being taxed for breathing down under. Well Trabis appears to be right about the XOOPS Profile module being the official version and I will fall back to that then. 1.70 will be given a proper burial.

Not a single match instance of the text in any file in the entire installation script, or the lib/data folders outside webroot. Firebug show no error in any category when opening the profiles directory.

This module was released by Wishcraft so I am hoping he will respond. I did nothing wrong on install so he either must be aware of this, know what is likely causing it, or did not try the directory before releasing it.

No one? Nothing?

Wishcraft, this is the second version from the newest one. Do you have any idea why I am getting this in the directory display? The issue looks language related. Surely someone must have experienced this besides me.

Hello everyone,

I am using Profile 1.70 and everything is working very well....

except

After setting up user directory and permissions, when I click on the directory link under profiles, all I get is a

define _PROFILE_LANG_

as the only select option for the searchbox

and also in a single line right below this where the user gets displayed.
no users display at all.

Could some one tell me what is amiss here?

Thanks

xlc0 module block leaves visitors in suspended animation while it updates

I am using xld0 news syndication module with the headlines block on the front page. When a user goes to access the page, there is a looonnnnggg wait from the time the user clicks on the page before the page is served to them. This is because the headlines block appears to want to update its content before it releases the page to the user. This appears to be a function of cache time set in the block. It is so bad I had to temporarily remove it from the page (which also removed the wait problem). Even when setting the blocks cache to update only once per day, the delay would still be encountered at different times during the daywide interval. Can the cache update process be cronned externally somehow so the user doesn't have to initiate it and wait? That would help alot.
