hi steve, try installing XOOPS to a different db and then edit the mainfile.php and change the db name to the old one and see what happens. If your old db is ok it should work like it did before.

if that doesnt work, download xoopsdb backup module (i dont remember the name right now) backup the tables of the old db that you need and restore them to the new one (or export them through phpmyadmin if the module is not working due to your problem).

hallo there, i'm trying to make a xoopstree for a part of a module i'm developing. What i wanna accomplish is to select some users from the XOOPS db and show them in a drop down list. The catch is that i have also another db which some of the users are stored as friends (for example).

The question:

How can i create the drop down list for the XOOPS users db (with xoopstree) ommiting the users that are already added in the other db??

The code for creating the xoopstree is the following:

Is there a way to exclude the results that have a uid= "to the uid of the user from the 2nd db"?

and what about the charset! what this have to do with anything like that? When I use utf the problem apears! when latin is used the problem is gone!!! how can this be explained?

thanks mate, i had a look at the date function and managed to do what i wanted, the way you just described. Everything works well now. :)

you must clear the htaccess file in the folder you are trying to view as well(/modules/newbb for example) not only the one in the root...

perhaps if you try to clear the httaccess. file will solve this... i had that kind of problem and it was a line in there that caused it.

Hi i'm trying to make a function to set an expire date for an article. What i want to do is look at the db and take an integer. 30 for example (this will be the number of days that this article will be online since the date it was created).

how can i add this value to the date submitted in order to make the expiration date and store it in the db?

i store the submission date in the db calling the function time().

Is there a way to add a number of days to this function and get the future expiration date? thanks.

the XOOPS hacks module has the admin files needed in order to make it like EXM, i think copying those files to their respective folders should do the job for you! Dont now if this works though, its just an idea...
