well about free hosting...if free hosting means xhost.ro than you can just think about switch to a different freehost . I myself had some problems there and let me tell you it wasn't xoops's fault, 3x.ro also has isues not only to XOOPS but to many other cms's.

hmmm I'm not an expert but it seems you are using XOOPS 2.2.4 that has a "NOT RECOMENDED" label for productions sites...and your .register.php doesn't redirects users to /modules/profile/register.php which seems to work just fine and allow registration

Adding content to XOOPS:
It really depends on what content do you have in mind, but either is news articles or web links directory , download items or a forum, in the end comes to one thing:
<Installing the apropriate module>
So just browse the "Module Repository" on this site and locate the apropriate module to do the job.
If you have the latest RECOMENDED version of XOOPS which is 2.0.13.2 than you're all set as it includes a variety of modules, all you have to do is login as an administrator and go to admin side of your XOOPS site and install whatever you need

I was very surprised cause i did it on my site cause the module was used for a different purpose and there was no need for user's subimision
