As I understand, that project is on hold due to other priorities of the developers We hope they'll soon pick up the thread and start developing again.

As for the amember software, that will not be incorporated into XOOPS as a module, since it isn't opensource software, and the licence doesn't permit it.

It's the first I hear of this app, so I'm pretty sure it hasn't been ported to XOOPS (yet). If it's a gallery application, then you might want to try the alternatives.. there are a few around.

Version 2.0.4 will be a bug fix release. It should come soon.

Version 2.1.0 will be the 'next' version, with some major improvements and some additions. We'll start a roadmap discussion on the site soon, I promise

performance is mostly tied with the database load, I think. You can make XOOPS faster by utilising the cache features with modules and blocks. You can find the cache settings in the general preferences of you preference menu in the system admin, and when editing each block separate.
