Ahh Ok I think you mean that each module may or may not allow for the selection of a different editor. I was able to select a different editor in the news module preferences after applying your hack. If there is a way to change the editor for all modules please fill me in.

If you are using News 1.44 once you add a "recent news" block to the center of your page you can set it to have tabbed subjects. From admin section goto Blocks > List all blocks find your Recent News block and click edit. There is a pull down that says "Display" with two choices. Classic and Tabbed, choose tabbed. Just below that you can change the color of the summary line that will show up under the tabs.

If you want to change the style of the tabs (the look) then from admin goto Preferences > News > Module Preferences. Toward the bottom of that page you'll see a section called "Select the skin to use in tabs" You have 8 choices for the style of tabs that will be displayed on your site. I use Plain myself, goes well with my geometric_red theme.

Hope this helps

Ok, you can make it so your main page shows the news like your first example. To do that goto Admin > Preferences > System > General Settings. From there on the fifth line you'll see Module for your start page. Change that from None to News and click Ok at the bottom of the page.

You can also keep the main page the way it is and add a News block (Recent news) to the main page like you have in your second example. The reason your news is split is because it looks like you told the block to be center/left and center/right. Change that block to be center/center and it will look like the first example.

Hope this helps

There is also a pretty nice module that works well with Flash .swf files its called SmartMedia 0.85. You can view your video content right in your XOOPS site or have a link to open in another window if you choose. I have it installed on my site and it works well.

I have Google 1 module installed and I am also on an Intranet. I don't use the search this site feature. One thing you will have to remember if you are on an intranet, it's probable that Google will not be able to search your site due to the fact that you are on an intranet to begin with. The domain firewalls probably are blocking inbound connections making it impossible for Google to spider your site.

I am running piCal 0.84b (A calendar module) on a XOOPS 2.2.4 install and it works just fine.

I have not tried any of the other modules mentioned.

Can user registration be turned off for XOOPS 2.2.* ?

If so where might I find it?
