Looking for a Wrapper for calling an HTML app into Xoops

I've got an HTML gallery program I'd like to call into the XOOPS and retain the header information above the Gallery.

The Gallery is Expose4.

I need some sort of wrapper application. I'm not sure a frames is what would work best.

Anyway I intalled the wraps 1.06, but it's more of a thing to load html code into the contents of something like a SmartSections article.

==================================================

I installed the Iframes 1.4beta. It may be just fine for what I want to do. It looks that way.

I need a quiz module that allows webmaster to build a quix with multiple choice and Yes/No answers. The correct answers have a pre-set value, which is accumulated as the user progresses through the quiz.

WHen the quiz is completed the user will receive a narrative response, which results from the accumulated sum of the pre-set values for correct answers.

There are a number of pre-written narrative responses.

Mithrandir

Remember it's about the one with the most votes that wins, not necessarily the best of the five (5). The best five CMS was picked by the experts in September.

I'd hate to see XOOPS rated below most of the others. I'm a little partial to XOOPS of course.

That stupid Googles ad 468x60 as the banner can never mean as much as being picked "THE BEST CMS".

If that ad has to be here, poke it somewhere else and let's promote the XOOPS AS BEST CMS.

Voila!

You go to home site for drupal, Plone, etc. They their top banner link to vote for their CMS as best.

I wouldn't mind to see that and some other promo on this site as well. I think that is a real accolade to be winner of that award.

IMO of course

We've never had a decent quiz module for Xoops. Quiz pages are great for building and maintaing traffic on sites. Everything from personality quiz to predicting the end of the world can be made into quiz that interest users.

Just poking in a JavaScript makes your site look so unprofessional. The script needs to fit well within the overall appearance and theme of your site.

Here are some links for Javascripts:

http://javascript.about.com/library/blquiz.htm?once=true&

http://wsabstract.com/script/script2/comboquiz.shtml

--------------

I realize I can just put a Javascript in my code, but getting a fluid install that complements my theme is another set of problems for this guy.

If a dev with theme skills could take a look at some existing Javascripts and build a mod for quiz that would be a good addition to Xoops.

By using Javasctipts the updating would only require changes for theme and core issues.

Thanks - Happy Halloween

Working on a site that requires a database manager type control for Downloads. The files are mostly under 500KB, but there are some up to 8MB.

The database has 5 categories. 1 category & 4 sub-category.

Type / model / year / color / style -

Need to be able to run a sort/search to extract those files that qualify for download.

Sort and Search to certain color and style, or year and model, or type, model, year, etc.

Don't need much informaton...mostly intro text, and few details. Then a clickon for more details and pics, etc.

The user is expected to only DL one file at a time, and an uploads by user from computer with browse is required. FTP is OK for admin to get the DB up and running, but after that the users will upload files via an uploads utility. It would be great if they could batch upload, but for the present that's not necessary.

Anyone know of such an animal for Xoops? If not maybe I can just wrap a PHP application. I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas.

Thanks

I'd appreciate some recommendations for a local server I can use to work my sites before I upload them to my host.

It's been awhile since I've used one. Thought there may be something newer and better.

Thanks

As I recall that mod didn't allow for user submit and uploads from their computer. I do not have time resources for doing much of anything for users.

Most of my sites' users do not have the skill for linking to a server for downloads, much less have a server. LOL

I've taken off the WFdownloads for now.

I found that the selecting the MIME types was not working correctly for me.

When I went into the 7 page matrix I tried clicking the respective button to green and that didn't work for user. I then tried using the Edit function to add it to user and it still didn't apply the selection.

I could only get zip and txt as selection for users, regardless of what I had selected.

I did look around abit before posting. Didn't want the "search before you ask" lecture. LOL

Some of the other issues I recall had been asked on the SmartFactory boards.

Thanks for the responses - I still voted XOOPS as the best CMS.

I've used the 1.05A of WF-Downloads and yesterday I DL the Smartfactory version.

Still got a lot of problems with it. I've searched around and found my complaints have been asked before. I'm gonna leave it to the Smartfactory devs to work through it.

-------------------------

I could use a few solid recommendations from some site builders that are using a downloads module that is competent and reliable.

Thanks
