This is just a suggestion, mind you, but I think the listings for YAXS should be in their own section separate from the News section.

I like to keep up with what's going on without having to wade through all the YAXS announcements.

Thanks.

You can change the option under the general properties to use sendmail or php mail.

This option is on by default.

Since module compatability varies greatly by XOOPS version, I would like to see the modules categorized by version compatability at a high level and then by category.

For example:

2.2.3 Modules
Admin tools, Community etc.

2.0.13.2 Modules
Admin tools, Community etc.

Just a question for the dev team:

Will future versions of XOOPS be better at backwards compatability with respect to modules?

One of, if not the biggest, problems I have with new XOOPS versions is that many modules do not work.

I would like to see some kind of design where all modules designed for version x.x will work with future versions.

Granted, that sometimes major changes need to be made to the database schema, etc, but at this point, I would think that most of the major re-writes would have been done.

Thanks

I would suggest installing the backup module, which will let you save the database to the desktop.

Which module do you prefer? I am tired of getting a module, installing it, getting used to it and then when something happens finding out the author no longer supports it (e.g. MS-Weather).

Thanks again!

Gosh, that was easy! Duh!!!

I can't believe I missed THAT!!!

Another CBB one for you:

I have imagemagik installed and it is un use by XoopsGallery, but CBB can't find it. I pointed it to the /cgi/bin folder and no luck. Any ideas?

Is there a way to remove the RSS buttons/links that are next to each forum topic?

Thanks!

Database questions...

I have done a search and looked at the FAQs.

Here is my situation:

One of my sites is hosted by godaddy and I am thinking about moving another site there. My first XOOPS install was on the godaddy account through their canned install routines.

I did not create a MySQL database prior to the install and called to ask them where it was so I could back it up and they don't know.

I checked the mainfile.php and can't find a file that matches the database name listed there.

I want to be able to do a new install and copy the database from the old site to the new godaddy site.

Where is the database file actually located?

Thanks!!!

You may want to give access to extended profiles to anonymous users.

Is anyone supporting CBB 2.2? I can't get any answers in their forums either.

Does anyone know of a better forum mod, that works?

I have used IPB for Xoops, but it is a pain to install and would prefer something more "native" to Xoops, theme-wise.

Thanks!!!
