This is just a suggestion, mind you, but I think the listings for YAXS should be in their own section separate from the News section.

I like to keep up with what's going on without having to wade through all the YAXS announcements.

If you mean separate RSS feeds for XOOPS news and YAXS - especially when we display it on our sites, I think it's a good idea.

Could you clarify? YAXS announcements are news posts, and are in their own section. How do you see this? For what issue is this a solution?

IMHO YAXS is what XOOPS is all about: websites powered by XOOPS. Do you mean to highlight this more, or to downplay this?

It seems we have a difference of opinion on this and that is quite alright.

I just think the YAXS should have a section separate from "news".

I also agree these announcements are important, but I would argue that they are not "news".

My 2 cents.

I'm sorry, I was asking for your input and ideas on how you see this. Could you explain more about how you would see this implemented, and what the difference is between news and YAXS?

One way to do this would be to have the YAXS announcements as a submenu under the news menu.

For example

XOOPS News (a link that opens the news articles page)
YAXS (another page opens that has JUST the YAXS entries)


Again, just a suggestion.

To elaborate:

I personally don't see YAXS announcements as news.

To me news is new modules, XOOPS version updates, community announcements, etc.


I hope this clarifes things.

Well we do provide (or at least the news module does) a dropdown menu so you can browse the latest articles of the categories you want to view.
