PHP Version:
5.3.10

For NewBB you can try the new version 4.3 Beta. There are still some few small bugs, but overall it's pretty stable.

Regarding XoopsGallery, you might have a problem, as this is a pretty old module, that might have problems with newer PHP versions. Which XoopsGallery version do you have, and what PHP version are you running?

I don't know how many pictures/albums you have there, but it might be better to consider to convert to something different, like the extGallery module.

Xoopsgallery version 1337, I didn't realize when I re-installed it that it was still old.

I may just have to manually pull off the pictures.

EDIT: Thanks that fixed my forum module.

I guess I am out of luck concerning my gallery module.

Oh well. I am better off than I was...

Good news and bad news!

Good news! I was able to successfully upgrade my site to 2.5.5RC!

Thanks for that!

Now the bad news, there are two modules I need to access:

NewBB and Xoopsgallery.

I have moved the updated files onto my server and run the upgrade process on both of these.

With Xoopsgallery, the script looks like it runs properly, but the version never changes in the module admin and I get the white screen when trying to access it.

With NewBB, I run the update script and then get a blank page. If I manually refresh it loads the admin page, but the module does not update its version.

Any ideas?

EDIT: also almost everything I click on gives me a white screen: e.g. trying to edit a user.

So, basically, it looks like there is nothing I can do at this point.

Hmmm...

Well the release_notes.txt file references a full install and upgrade from 2.4.

I am assuming I should follow the steps in the section:
"Upgrading from versions older than 2.5.0:"

There are files referenced in these steps that don't exist in 2.3.3 e.g. /include/license.php.

Should I just follow those steps and ignore the references to files that do not exist?

Thanks again for all your help.

Okay. Got the version from the include/version.php file. Confirmed the version is, indeed, 2.3.3.

Now, is there an upgrade file or do I just install the files for 2.5.4?

Thanks!

I haven't accessed one of my Xoops sites in a while and I needed to get some data from it. When I tried to access the site I got the following error:

Fatal error: Class 'XoopsLogger' not found in /home/...

I am pretty sure this is due to a version mismatch between Xoops a recent server PHP upgrade.

From what I have read I need to upgrade my Xoops version.

I have two issues:

1. I am not 100% certain of the version number on this site (90% thinking it is 2.3.3). How can I ascertain that info without site access?

2. I cannot locate any upgrade files for 2.3.x to 2.5.4.

Thanks!

Check your settings for the module.
Most likely the setting under forum options...sort by is not set to "the beginning".

I have had that issue.

Thanks I was able to download and install, but I get the following errors:

Warning [PHP]: file(): URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in file modules/weather/blocks/weather_block.php line 29
Warning [PHP]: file(http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?p=USAL0054&u=f): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in file modules/weather/blocks/weather_block.php line 29

Is this a file/folder rights issue?

This module is GREAT!

In my block though, currently the weather is "FAIR" but in my block is says "Fai"

Is there a reason why it's truncating the results?

Any idea how to fix this?

I am using CELCIUS mode...

Thanks!

Where can you get it? I don't see it in the module repository.
