OMG Bassman!

It couldn't be THAT easy?! DAMN... I'll try that...

Sometimes I put my shoes on backwards and talk to myself... which doesn't seem right. I'll RTFM again.

Cheers!

NEWB HERE:

I think I am missing some basic knowledge of how this all words...

There must be a way to CLONE a block?! For instance, I have installed the "TinyD Module", which offers 2 blocks (TinyD 0 Content, TinyD 0 Menu). When I edit the module "TinyD", I am given the option to "ADD CONTENT", so I created a "WELCOME" message. I then exit the MODULE config, and go to BLOCK config, and I setup the "Blocks" config to use the "TinyD O Content" block on the "Top Page" and use the content which I titled "WELCOME"... and yea.. yea.. display the block in the center position. NOW.. I go back to BLOCK config, and add content, to create a 2nd piece of content called "WHY I AM DUMB" and type all about why I am so damn dumb. This is where I get really confused... I go back to the MODULE config, and I now want to display this 2nd piece of information using the TINYd module, but my "TinyD O Content" block is already being used with my "WELCOME" message.... so back to my initial question, can I CLONE the "TinyD O Content" block which uses the TinyD Module, so I can post more than 1 message??

Does anyone follow me? I am confused on this point with ALL modules. Another example would be the ability to display a thumbnail of a random photo using MyAlbum... now what if I want to do this on the home page with one block of photos, and another block of photos on another page? Ya know?

Does each module only come with one set of blocks that you can use? That would suck a lot.

Thanks for any help you may provide as I'm very dumb.

XOOPS seems like it has great potential, but finding HELP files, etc.. is NOT proving easy.

Do any of these modules come with help files? I know I'm script-challenged, but I can not seem to figure out WF-Section... the module config doesn't even speak to the blocks (Big Article, etc)..

LOST IN XOOPS SPACE!

Hey Carnuke-

Yea, I hate popups (as in the read more link), but otherwise, that is exactly what I am looking for.. a way to put two blocks next to each other like that in the center, with images, and a link to read more...

What would the best way to implement this? I know HTML, in case that helps.

Thanks for your help!

Xoops Welcome Box?

Three questions:

(1) WELCOME BOX -- How do I get that Welcome box in the center of the Xoops.org home page?

Is that a Section Module or what??

(2) SECTIONS -- I would like to setup a few blocks which basically display a summary (including an image) on the home page, and then allow the user to click to a page with more detail (such as a brief description of services in one block, and a brief description of a promotion on the home page, and then a link to click for more detail)...

What module do I use for this?

(3) REMOVE LINKS FROM MAIN MENU -- How do I remove links from the Main Menu? For instance, I have a "News" on the Main Menu list, but I also have hte "News" displayed on the home page. I JUST want it on the home page... no need for a link to a separate page with news...

Many, many thanks for your help! XOOPS could make my world a ton better, if I can figure all this configuramo stuff out.

Cheers,
Barbary

Also, any idea how I get that "Welcome" box in the center of the homepage of Xoops, on my site? Is that a "Section Module" or what?

Thanks.

Hey thanks for the welcoming.

Your idea does not even come close, however, to achieving my goal.

OVERALL
I'm trying to mimick the static prototype site I have online right now with Xoops, so I can grow it dynamically and easily. I'm finding XOOPS is not very easy to configure at all, and the navigation is cumbersome as hell.

SPECIFICALLY
For the links, I'm just trying to provide the exact same layout as you see here:

http://barbarybeats.com/links.htm

(1) I can not have this link page on the home page.
(2) I also can not have the user click on a link which takes them to a description of the link... they need to go straight to it, and in a separate browser (target = "_blank")

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Cheers,

Barbary

I'm trying to do something like you will find at this page with XOOPS Links Module, and I'm having no luck?

http://barbarybeats.com/links.htm

Does anyone know how I can achieve this with or without the Links Module? I don't want my users to have to click through categories, and waste time with descriptions, etc.. a simple list of site, and the links under a few categories is all I need.

ANY IDEAS PEEPS?

Thanks,
Babary
